The SP21 series is a popular, affordable aviation-grade IP67/IP68 push-pull waterproof connector widely used in LED lighting, industrial equipment, medical devices, and outdoor electronics. It comes in four main mounting styles:
1. Square Flange Receptacle (also called “front panel mount”)
This is the female panel connector with a square metal plate and four screw holes. You mount it on the front side of your enclosure or panel using four screws – the most common and secure way for fixed equipment.
2. Jam Nut Receptacle (also called “rear mount” or “back mount”)
This is also a panel-mounted female connector, but it has no flange. You insert it from the back of the panel, slide it through a round hole, and tighten a nut from the front (or sometimes from the back). It saves space and gives a cleaner look on the outside.
3. Circular Flange Receptacle
Similar to the square flange version, but with a circular flange instead of square. It is mainly used when you need a round, symmetrical appearance or when matching certain design requirements.
4. Straight Plug (also called “cable plug” or “in-line plug”)
This is the male connector that goes on the end of a cable. It plugs directly into any of the panel receptacles above and locks with a satisfying “click” thanks to the push-pull mechanism.
