Custom Under-Cabinet & Shelf Lighting Utilize leftover pieces of LED tape by connecting them to create perfectly sized lighting for kitchen cabinets, bookshelves, or display cases. This connector makes it easy to customize lengths without wasting material.
DIY Lighting Projects & Repairs An essential tool for DIY enthusiasts and professionals. Quickly repair a damaged section of a strip or connect segments for custom signs, accent lighting, or backlighting projects without the hassle of soldering.

How to Use This Solderless Connector

  1. Ensure the power to your LED strips is turned off.
  2. Cut your 10mm COB RGB strip cleanly along a designated cut line.
  3. Open the transparent cover of the connector by gently prying it upwards.
  4. Carefully slide the end of the LED strip into one side of the connector, making sure it goes underneath the metal contact pins.
  5. Align the copper pads on the strip with the pins inside the connector. Check that the polarity markings (+, G, R, B) on the strip correspond to the channels.
  6. Press the transparent cover down firmly until it clicks securely shut. You should feel it lock in place.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 for the second strip segment on the other side of the connector.
  8. Visually confirm that both strips are fully inserted and the polarity is matched across the connection.
  9. Restore power and test your newly connected LED strip lights.
⚠ Precautions
  • This connector is designed exclusively for 10mm wide, 4-pin COB RGB LED strips.
  • For use with IP20 non-waterproof strips only. Not suitable for strips with silicone or epoxy coatings.
  • Always double-check polarity alignment before closing the connector. Incorrect wiring can damage your LED strips.
  • For high-power applications or installations where the connection will be subject to physical stress, soldering remains the most durable connection method.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will this connector work with standard SMD 5050 or 2835 RGB strips?

A:While it may physically fit, this connector is specifically designed for the flat, uniform surface of COB RGB LED strips to ensure the most reliable connection. For SMD strips, we recommend using connectors designed for them.

Q: Is this 4 pin led light connector waterproof?

A:No, this connector is designed for use with IP20 non-waterproof LED strips and should only be used in dry, indoor locations.

Q: Do I need any special tools for installation?

A:No, this is a completely solderless led strip connector. You only need a pair of scissors to cut the strip on the marked line; no other tools are required.

Q: Can I use this to make a 90-degree corner turn?

A:This model is a straight, tape-to-tape connector for extending strips in a line. For corners, you will need a dedicated L-shape connector from our 4-pin accessories category.

Q: What is the maximum current this connector can handle?

A:These types of solderless connectors are generally suitable for standard LED strip applications and are typically rated for up to 5 Amps. For high-density strips or very long runs drawing more current, we recommend a soldered connection.

Q: The lights are flickering after installation. What should I do?

A:Flickering usually indicates a poor connection. Turn off the power, open the connector, and ensure the strip is cut cleanly and pushed all the way in, with the copper pads making firm contact with the internal pins. Also, verify the polarity is correct.
