In modern interior residential lighting design, cove lighting is increasingly inclined to hidden design, this false ceiling cove light molding after installation will form a 50mm (2inch) wide groove space between ceiling and wall for the reflection of light from LED strip. This shaded space makes the ceiling appear to be separate from the wood or tile walls, creating a “floating” visual illusion that brings a sense of dimension and hierarchy to the room. The visual height of the space is enhanced by the sense of levitation. Light spills out evenly from the grooves, creating comfortable indirect lighting. The recess is recessed towards the ceiling, and the light shines mainly on the wall, making a “wall-washing” effect.
This size of cove space is neither too narrow nor too wide in the room and is suitable for most common interior lighting applications such as living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and corridors. The white aluminium ceiling cove trim is enough to accommodate 10mm LED strips and leaves enough space for light diffusion and reflection, maintaining the simplicity of the ceiling and walls.
