This 5V 3mm COB LED strip light delivers continuous, dot-free linear illumination across an ultra-narrow 3mm printed circuit board. Engineered with 400 chips per meter and consuming 6W per meter, this flexible ribbon is tailored for micro-illumination tasks where wide PCB boards cannot physically fit. As a specialized item in our micro thin 3mm LED strip catalog, it runs on low-voltage DC 5V, making it fully compatible with USB ports, power banks, and portable battery packs. White color options deliver high color fidelity with a color rendering index exceeding Ra 90. Because 5V circuits encounter voltage drop across longer runs, single-ended power feed is designed for segments around 1 meter.
At only 3mm wide, this miniature circuit board slides into narrow channels, gaps, scale models, and small DIY enclosures where standard strips cannot fit.
With 400 LEDs packed per meter under a uniform coating, this COB design provides smooth, hotspot-free linear output without diffuser covers.
Marked black lines every 10mm (0.39 inches) allow precise tailoring for miniature craftwork, scale architectural models, and drone frames.
White light variants deliver true-to-life color rendering with Ra greater than 90, preventing color distortion in display cases and miniature modeling.
The low 5V DC input pairs seamlessly with DC 5V LED strip lights setups, microcontrollers, lithium battery packs, and USB power sources.
Available in warm white 3000K, neutral white 4000K, cool white 6500K, as well as saturated red, green, blue, yellow, pink, and ice blue.

⚠ Precautions
Q: how to connect cob led strip
A: Because the PCB is only 3mm wide, standard clip-on solderless connectors are generally too wide. We recommend direct soldering of 22-24 AWG wires to the copper solder pads on the cut lines for a secure electrical connection.
Q: Why does a 5m reel experience voltage drop even with dual-ended power?
A: Because the copper PCB is only 3mm wide, electrical resistance along the traces is higher than on standard 8mm or 10mm strips. Powering both ends of a full 5m run still leaves the 2.5m midpoint noticeably dimmer, which is why we recommend cutting the strip and feeding power to segments of approximately 1 meter.
Q: Can I run this strip directly from a 5V USB port or power bank?
A: Yes. At 6W per meter, a 1-meter segment draws approximately 1.2A at 5V DC, which falls comfortably within the output range of standard 5V 2A USB power banks and wall chargers.
