How to Install & Use This 0-10V Dimmer

  1. SAFETY FIRST: Turn off power at the main circuit breaker before beginning installation.
  2. AC Input Wiring: Connect the 100-240V AC 'Live' and 'Neutral' wires from your power source to the dimmer's designated AC input terminals.
  3. Switched Output: Connect the 'Load' output terminal to the AC input of your 0-10V LED driver or fixture. The neutral wire can be passed through.
  4. Dimming Signal Wiring: Connect the '0-10V+' and '0-10V-' terminals on the dimmer to the corresponding signal input terminals on your LED driver.
  5. Mounting: Securely install the dimmer into a standard 86x86mm electrical wall box and attach the faceplate.
  6. Testing: Restore power at the circuit breaker. Rotate the knob to test the full dimming range and press it to test the on/off switching function.
⚠ Precautions
  • This dimmer is designed for use with 0-10V dimmable drivers and fixtures only. It is not compatible with TRIAC, DALI, or PWM-only systems.
  • Ensure the total load connected to the switch does not exceed the maximum switching current of 5A.
  • The 50mA control current is typically sufficient to control dozens of drivers, but always check your driver's specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a 0-10V dimmer?

A:A 0-10V dimmer is a low-voltage analog lighting control method. It sends a DC voltage signal between 0 and 10 volts to the LED driver, which interprets this voltage to set the light output level (0V being off or minimum, 10V being 100% brightness).

Q: Can I use this dimmer with any LED strip?

A:No, this dimmer must be paired with an LED strip that is powered by a 0-10V dimmable LED driver. The dimmer controls the driver, and the driver controls the strip.

Q: Does the E610P dimmer need its own power supply?

A:No, the E610P is designed to be powered directly from your mains electricity (100-240Vac), simplifying installation.

Q: What's the difference between the 50mA control current and the 5A switching current?

A:The 50mA control current is the maximum capacity of the low-voltage 0-10V signal output. The 5A switching current is the maximum high-voltage load the internal relay can turn on and off.

Q: Is this a smart dimmer? Can I control it with my phone?

A:No, the E610P is a hard-wired analog rotary dimmer. It provides simple, reliable manual control and does not have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or smart home capabilities.

Q: How do 0-10V dimmers differ from other types of dimmer switches?

A:Unlike a standard residential dimmer (leading/trailing-edge or TRIAC) which modulates the AC power line, a 0-10V dimmer sends a separate, dedicated low-voltage signal. This method generally provides smoother, flicker-free dimming, especially at very low light levels.
