How to Wire & Install This Power Supply

  1. Step 1: Verify Compatibility – Confirm your LED lighting requires a DC24V input and its total power consumption does not exceed 200W.
  2. Step 2: Calculate Load Headroom – For optimal performance and longevity, plan your load to not exceed 80% of the driver's capacity (160W maximum).
  3. Step 3: Connect AC Input – IMPORTANT: Turn off mains power at the breaker. Connect the Live (L), Neutral (N), and Ground (⏚) wires from your AC source to the corresponding input terminals on the power supply.
  4. Step 4: Connect DC Output – Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) wires from your LED lights to the V+ and V- output terminals, respectively. Ensure correct polarity to prevent damage.
  5. Step 5: Connect Dimmer Control – Wire your compatible TRIAC or 0-10V dimmer to the appropriate control input terminals according to the dimmer's installation manual.
  6. Step 6: Test System – Once all connections are secure, restore mains power and test the lighting and dimming functionality through its full range.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between TRIAC and 0-10V dimming?

A:TRIAC dimming works by cutting the AC power wave and is common in residential setups using standard wall dimmers. 0-10V dimming uses a separate low-voltage DC signal for smoother, more precise control, often found in commercial applications. This versatile driver supports both.

Q: How many meters of LED strip can this 200W driver power?

A:This depends on the strip's power consumption (Watts/meter). To ensure longevity, load the driver to only 80% (160W). Use the formula: Max Meters = 160 / (Watts per meter of your strip). Our guide on how to calculate power for LED strip lights provides more detail.

Q: Is this a constant voltage (CV) or constant current (CC) driver?

A:This is a Constant Voltage (CV) power supply, designed to output a stable DC 24V. It is perfect for CV products like most LED flexible strips and light bars.

Q: Can I use this 24V power supply for 12V LED strips?

A:No, you must match the power supply's output voltage to your LED strip's required input voltage. Using this 24V driver on a 12V strip will permanently damage the LEDs.

Q: Does this power supply have a fan or make noise?

A:No, this model uses passive cooling through free air convection and has no internal fan, ensuring silent operation.
