Application Scenarios

Theatrical & Stage Lighting Integrate standard LED fixtures into a DMX/DALI stage control console. The LT-484 offers the granular control and smooth dimming essential for creating dynamic theatrical lighting effects for plays, concerts, and live events.
Architectural & Commercial Spaces Perfect for large-scale architectural projects such as museums, galleries, hotels, and conference centers. Use the LT-484 to control accent lighting, cove lighting, and general illumination from a central DALI building management system.
High-End Residential & Hospitality In smart homes or luxury hotels, the LT-484 allows for the integration of various decorative light fixtures into a sophisticated DALI control system, enabling complex scene programming and automated lighting schedules.

How to Control & Use This Controller

  1. Ensure all power is off before beginning installation.
  2. Connect the AC power source (100-240V) to the 'AC-L' (Live) and 'AC-N' (Neutral) input terminals.
  3. Connect the DALI control bus to the 'DA1' and 'DA2' signal input terminals. DALI is not polarity sensitive.
  4. Connect the output terminals to your 0-10V or PWM compatible LED drivers or fixtures. Ensure correct polarity for each of the four channels.
  5. Power on the system. Use your DALI master controller to scan the network and assign a DALI address to the LT-484 unit.
  6. Once addressed, test the dimming functionality for each channel using your DALI control panel or software.
⚠ Precautions
  • This device is a signal converter, not a power supply. It does not power LED strips directly.
  • Always use a qualified electrician for installation.
  • Ensure the connected LED drivers are compatible with either 0-10V or PWM dimming signals.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of the connected LED drivers or power supplies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the primary function of the LT-484 driver?

A:The LT-484 is a signal converter. It takes a digital DALI signal from a control system and converts it into a 4-channel analog 0-10V or PWM signal that is used to dim standard LED drivers.

Q: Can this device power my LED strip lights directly?

A:No, this is not a power supply. It only provides a low-voltage control signal. You will still need a separate, dimmable LED driver and LED power supply to power your lights.

Q: How many separate lighting groups can I control with one LT-484?

A:The LT-484 features four independent output channels, allowing you to control up to four different zones or groups of lights from a single unit.

Q: Is this controller compatible with any DALI system?

A:Yes, the LT-484 is designed to the DALI standard protocol IEC62386, ensuring compatibility with standard DALI master controllers and systems.

Q: How do I switch between 0-10V and PWM output?

A:The output type is selectable based on your application needs. Please refer to the product datasheet, available in the Downloads section, for detailed configuration instructions.

Q: What is DALI dimming?

A:DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a professional, two-way communication protocol for lighting control in building automation. It allows for precise control, addressing, and status feedback for individual fixtures. For more detail, read our blog post on What Is DALI Dimming?
