Product Information

This DC24V DMX512 addressable RGBW LED strip operates directly on standard DMX512 differential signals using external TM512BC driver integrated circuits, eliminating the need for standalone DMX decoders on each run. Built with 84 SMD5050 4-in-1 RGBW LEDs per meter, each TM512BC IC regulates a group of 6 LEDs as a single addressable pixel (14 pixels per meter; 140 pixels across the continuous 10-meter reel). Each pixel consumes 4 discrete DMX channels (Red, Green, Blue, White), requiring 560 DMX channels for the full 10-meter run.

Both ends feature pre-soldered 5-pin JST-SM connectors for plug-and-play signal and DC24V injection. Designed specifically for stage production, architectural facades, and hospitality chasing effects, this product expands our specialized RGBW DMX LED strip lineup and pairs directly with any commercial programmable LED controller.

Key Features

Native DMX512 Differential Protocol

Uses external TM512BC driver ICs to read standard DMX512 (A/B data line) signals directly without intermediary SPI signal converters.

14 Addressable Pixels Per Meter

Each TM512BC IC manages 6 SMD5050 RGBW LEDs per 71.42mm segment, providing 140 individually addressable zones across the full 10-meter reel.

Continuous 10-Meter Reel Length

Supplied on a single 10-meter (32.8ft) spool with pre-wired 5-pin JST-SM male and female connectors on both ends for clean signal routing.

4-Channel True RGBW Control

Allocates 4 discrete DMX addresses per pixel (56 channels per meter; 560 total channels per 10m reel) for saturated color mixing and dedicated white output.

Stable DC24V Architecture

Operates at 24V DC to minimize thermal stress and reduce voltage drop over longer dynamic lighting installations when powered by a matching 24V Mean Well power supply.

Dual IP Protection Choices

Offered in IP20 non-waterproof with double-sided adhesive backing for dry indoor aluminum channels, or IP67 silicone tube for damp and outdoor architectural fixtures.

Technical Highlights

  • Direct DMX512 bus compatibility: TM512BC IC decodes EIA-485 level differential signals directly from standard consoles and Art-Net nodes.
  • 560 individual DMX control channels per 10m reel across 140 pixels, spanning beyond one standard DMX universe (512 channels) across two universes in programming consoles.
  • Precise cutting increments of 71.42mm (every 6 LEDs) allow exact sizing inside custom fixtures and linear profiles.
  • 12mm double-sided copper PCB ensures lower resistance, reliable ground return, and consistent signal integrity over the entire 10-meter length.
  • Can be mounted inside a 12mm silicone neon diffuser to achieve seamless, dot-free neon chasing tubes for stage and retail displays.

Application Scenarios

Stage and Concert Dynamic Chasing EffectsIntegrate this dmx512 addressable rgbw led strip directly into touring rigs, DJ booths, and stage trusses. Program fluid color chases, strobe sequences, and audio-reactive sweeps using industry-standard DMX512 consoles without intermediate decoder boxes.
Architectural Facade and Accent LightingUtilize the IP67-rated version for exterior building outlines, bridge spans, and perimeter soffits requiring dmx controlled lighting. The 24V architecture maintains consistent signal and color uniformity over extended linear runs.
Nightclub and Hospitality Media WallsMap pixel matrices across venue ceilings, back bars, and lounge columns. With 14 pixels per meter and 4-channel RGBW mixing, operators can blend pastel washes, warm ambient white glows, and rapid chase patterns on demand.

How to Install & Use This LED Strip

  1. Address Writing and Configuration: Use a dedicated DMX address writer tool to write initial DMX start addresses to the TM512BC ICs via the PI address line before permanent installation if custom universe offsets are required.
  2. Signal and Power Wiring: Connect the 5-pin JST-SM connector to your DMX controller output (Data+ / A, Data- / B, and GND) and wire the DC24V power supply leads directly to the power injection points.
  3. Pre-Mounting Test: Connect the full assembly to the controller and power source to verify DMX signal communication, channel addressing, and color calibration before removing the adhesive tape liner.
  4. Final Mounting: Peel the backing paper from the adhesive layer and press the LED strip firmly onto the mounting surface or inside an aluminum channel, applying even pressure for 30 seconds along each section.

⚠ Precautions

  • Voltage Drop Prevention: For a full 10-meter run under continuous white illumination, inject DC24V power at both ends of the LED strip to eliminate brightness and color degradation at the far end.
  • DMX Universe Allocation: Because a 10-meter reel uses 560 DMX channels (140 pixels x 4 channels), it exceeds a single 512-channel DMX universe. You must split the control addresses across two DMX universes in your control software.
  • Signal Ground Connection: Always connect the common GND pin between the DMX controller, power supply, and the LED strip to prevent floating signal ground and intermittent flickering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: how to control this TM512BC addressable led strip?

A: You control this addressable LED strip by sending standard DMX512 differential signals from a DMX console, Art-Net/sACN ethernet node, or programmable SD-card controller directly into the Data+ (A) and Data- (B) lines of the TM512BC ICs.

Q: how to program TM512BC addressable RGBW led strip?

A: To program this LED strip, patch the 140 pixels as 4-channel RGBW fixtures across your lighting software (such as Madrix, Resolume, or ChamSys), taking note that the 560 total channels will bridge across two DMX universes.

Q: Can this TM512BC LED RGBW strip be cut to length?

A: Yes, this LED strip can be cut every 71.42mm at the labeled copper cut lines, which correspond to groups of 6 LEDs managed by one TM512BC driver IC.

Q: What power supply do I need for this 10m reel?

A: Under full load with all RGBW diodes lit simultaneously at 100%, the 10m reel consumes up to 200W, so we recommend a DC24V power supply rated for at least 240W to maintain a safe 20% operating headroom.

LED Strip Light Guide

Common questions about this type of product, answered against this model’s own options. For full figures see the specification above or the spec sheet for this model.

Which controller does this LED strip light need?
Addressable LED strip lights take a data signal, so they need an SPI (pixel) controller that supports this IC — an ordinary RGB controller will not drive them. Data flows one way: connect the controller to the input end marked with the arrow. Wiring addressable LED strip lights
Do I need power injection?
5 V addressable LED strip lights lose voltage fastest, so longer runs need power fed in at both ends and at intervals along the run; 12 V and 24 V versions carry further. Keep the data line short between controller and first pixel. Choosing an addressable LED strip light
Which waterproof rating should I choose?
Available on this model: Outdoor Silicone Tube IP67 - Adhesive Back · Non-Waterproof IP20 - Adhesive Back. IP20 is for dry indoor use, IP65 handles splashes, IP67 suits outdoor and wet areas, IP68 is for continuous submersion. Choosing a waterproof rating
Can I cut it to length?
Yes. Cut only on the marked cut lines between the copper pads — the cut interval for this model is on its spec sheet. Rejoin with solder or a solderless connector. Connector options on this model: 5-pin 15CM Waterproof Wires · 5-pin Waterproof Fast Connectors · 5-pin JST Connectors. Cutting LED strip lights · we can also cut to length and fit your connector before shipping: custom LED strip light assembly.
What size power supply do I need?
Take the watts per metre from the specification above, multiply by the length you are running, then add about 25% headroom. Power calculation guide · Choosing a power supply
Will it fit an aluminium profile, and how dense are the LEDs?
PCB width 12mm (0.47in). Choose a profile whose inner width is at least the PCB width; denser LEDs give a smoother line close to a diffuser. LED aluminium profiles
