Variable White Led DMX Ribbon
4 productsDirect DMX plug and play variable white led light strips with 2-in-1 or 3-in-1 color temperature scheme, only one led ribbon strip can realize smooth transition from 2700K warm yellow light to 6500K cool white light, suitable for lighting occasions that need different kelvin led color temperature control or switching.
One UCS512 IC on the flexible ribbon led strip is one DMX512 pixel, one IC on the 2-in-1 CCT type has two DMX channels, and one IC on the 3-in-1 CCT type has three DMX channels. Available in 4-wire single-signal and 5-wire dual-signal led ribbon DMX adjustable white versions.
What does “IC” mean in Variable White LED strips?
Installing IC chips in variable white LED strips allows you to intelligently control each LED driven by an IC. For example, you can set the six LEDs controlled by the first IC to warm white (3000K) and the six LEDs controlled by the second IC to cool white (6000K), enabling you to create your own unique lighting effects.
There are many types of LED ICs, primarily distinguished by the control signals they use. The external ICs used in these DMX variable white light strips are compatible with DMX signals, so you can program them directly using a DMX controller. Some addressable variable white light strips use SPI IC chips, such as the SK6812, which is only compatible with SPI signals.

Adaptable Installation
DMX tunable white ribbon led light strip is based on flexible PCB, can be freely bent according to the installation environment, and one cut mark for every 6/12/30 LED beads (100mm/250mm) on 24V makes the light length adjustment stress-free. The IP20 basic version fits interior all shapes, while the waterproof led ribbon light strip version is covered with a highly translucent silicone surface or housing that is resistant to moisture, water and outdoor weathering.
Frequently Asked Questions About Variable White LED DMX Ribbon
Got a question about wiring, controlling, or choosing the right tunable white DMX strip? I've answered the most common ones we get below.
It depends on the chip. A 2-in-1 CCT strip uses two DMX channels per pixel: one for the warm white LEDs and one for the cool white. A 3-in-1 strip with warm, neutral, and cool white LEDs will use three channels per pixel. This is important when you're planning your DMX universe, as a long run can eat up channels fast.
A 2-in-1 DMX CCT strip mixes two kelvin values, usually 2700K and 6500K, to create all the temperatures in between. A 3-in-1 has three distinct CCTs on a single 5050 LED chip—say 3000K, 4500K, and 6500K. The 3-in-1 gives you a slightly better mid-range white because it has a dedicated natural white chip to work with.
It's simple math. Check the strip's product page for 'watts per meter'. Multiply that by the total meters you're using. Then, add a 20% safety margin—this is crucial for the power supply's longevity. So, for a 10-meter run of a 15W/m strip, you'd calculate (10m * 15W/m) * 1.2 = 180W. You'd need a 24V power supply rated for at least 180 watts.
There are a few usual suspects. First, check your wiring: Data+ and Data- can't be swapped. Second, make sure the strip has power. Third, check the DMX address; if the strip isn't addressed correctly, the controller is just shouting into the void. Finally, for long runs, you might need a DMX terminator at the end of the line to prevent signal reflection. Our guide to DMX control covers these points in more detail.
Absolutely. A huge part of our business is building strips to spec for specific jobs. You can send us a sketch—even a photo of a drawing on a napkin is fine—and we'll send back a full wiring diagram and parts list, usually the same business day. We can cut to length, pre-solder custom lead wires, and attach IP68 waterproof connectors for outdoor use. There's no fee for the consultation and no obligation to order.
