Effective 27 August 2026

Terms of Sale

The commercial terms that apply when you buy from superlightingled.com. Written in plain English, because a term nobody reads protects nobody.

5 currencies
USD, EUR, GBP, CAD and AUD, selectable at the top of any page. Quotations are issued in whichever you ask for.
Paid in advance
Orders are produced and shipped after cleared payment. No credit account is required.
Custom is different
Made-to-order assemblies have their own cancellation and return rules — section 07.
01 — Who you are contracting with

SuperLightingLED operates from Shenzhen, China, and has traded online since 2012.

The seller

Orders placed on superlightingled.com are supplied from our facility in Shenzhen, China. Goods are exported from China and imported into your country by you or your nominated agent.

Acceptance

Placing an order constitutes acceptance of these terms. A contract forms when we confirm the order in writing and payment has cleared — not at the moment the checkout button is pressed.

Variations

Any change to these terms has to be agreed by us in writing. Terms printed on a buyer’s purchase order do not override these unless we have specifically accepted them.
02 — Quotations, prices and payment

ItemTerm
CurrencyThe store operates in USD, EUR, GBP, CAD and AUD, selectable at the top of any page. The invoice is issued in the currency you checked out in, and a written quotation states its own currency. Any conversion is handled by your card issuer or PayPal — we do not add a conversion margin.
Quotation validityA written quotation is valid for the period stated on it. Where no period is stated, treat it as 30 days. Raw material and freight costs move, and we would rather requote than honour a stale figure badly.
Website pricesSubject to change without notice. The price that applies is the one confirmed on your order, not the one displayed at some earlier point.
Quantity breaksApplied automatically at checkout where published. Volume pricing beyond the published tiers is by quotation — see trade pricing.
Payment methodsPayPal (including card and Pay Later), and bank transfer for larger orders. Card details are handled entirely by PayPal — see the privacy notice.
Payment timingIn full before dispatch. For larger custom builds a deposit and balance arrangement can be agreed in writing before production starts.
Bank chargesOn bank transfers, intermediary and receiving bank charges are the buyer’s. If the amount received is short, the shortfall is payable before dispatch.
03 — Delivery, risk and title

Delivery dates are estimates

Transit times and production lead times are given in good faith based on experience, not as a contractual guarantee. Carriers, weather, customs and public holidays are outside our control. If you have a hard installation date, tell us before ordering and we will say honestly whether it is achievable.

Risk passes on handover

Risk of loss or damage passes when the goods are handed to the carrier. Title passes when payment has been received in full. Shipments are tracked, and we help chase any carrier problem — see shipping & returns.

Inspect on arrival

Check the shipment on receipt. Visible transit damage must be noted with the carrier at the point of delivery and reported to us within 7 days, with photographs of the packaging as well as the goods. A claim without packaging photographs is very hard to win against a carrier.
04 — Import duty, taxes and customs

The single most common source of misunderstanding in cross-border trade, so it is spelled out.

Duty and import taxes are the buyer’s responsibility unless a duty-paid service was purchased

For most destinations, import duty, VAT, GST and customs clearance charges are payable by the recipient and are not included in the price you paid us. Where we offer a duty-paid shipping option and you select it, the declared value and terms of that service are as described at checkout — read them, because they are not the same as full-value declaration. Full details are on the shipping & returns page.

We declare goods accurately and we never add a margin to a duty figure. We cannot mark a commercial shipment as a gift, and we cannot under-declare on request in a way that would misstate the transaction. Where a customer specifies a declared value, that instruction is recorded — and the responsibility for it sits with the importer of record, which is you.

Refused or abandoned shipments

If a shipment is refused at delivery or abandoned because duty was not paid, any return freight, storage, destruction or re-export cost is chargeable to the buyer, and is deducted from any refund.

Restricted destinations

Some products — particularly those containing lithium batteries or magnets — are restricted on certain routes. We will tell you before dispatch if your order is affected and offer an alternative.

Documentation

Commercial invoices, packing lists and certificates of origin are provided as standard. Tell us before dispatch if your broker needs a specific format or additional documents.
05 — Cancellation, returns and refunds

Standard stock products. Custom-built goods are covered separately in section 07.

SituationTerm
Before dispatchCancel and receive a full refund, provided production has not started on any made-to-order item.
Unopened stock itemsReturnable within 30 days of delivery in original packaging and resaleable condition. Return freight is the buyer’s unless the return is our error.
Our errorWrong item, wrong length or wrong option shipped by us: replaced or refunded in full, and we pay the freight both ways.
Faulty goodsHandled under the warranty rather than as a return. Do not ship anything back before contacting us — an unannounced return has no case reference attached and no customs paperwork prepared.
Cut lengthsLED strip light cut to a non-standard length is made to order and is treated under section 07, not as a stock return.
Refund methodTo the original payment method. Processing time depends on the payment provider, not on us.
06 — Product specification and tolerances

What is normal manufacturing variation and what is a defect. The full technical background is on the warranty page.

Binning tolerance

Colour temperature and brightness vary slightly between production batches. Tell us at the time of ordering if a project must come from a single batch and we will reserve it — it cannot be corrected afterwards.

Length tolerance

Cut lengths are made to the marked cut points on the board. The finished length is therefore within one segment of the nominal figure, not to the millimetre, unless a tolerance was agreed in writing.

Voltage drop

An inherent property of the run length and copper weight, not a fault. We will provide the calculation and feed-point recommendation before you order if you tell us the run length.

Specification changes

Product specifications and photographs are subject to change without notice as components are improved. Where a change materially affects a repeat order, we tell you before shipping it.
07 — Custom and made-to-order goods

These terms apply to anything built to your specification — cut lengths, fitted LED strip connectors, assembled kits, private label. Read them before placing a custom order.

Not cancellable once in production

Custom goods are built for one buyer and cannot be resold. Once production has started, the order cannot be cancelled and is not refundable except for a manufacturing defect.

Not returnable if correct to specification

If the goods match the confirmed build sheet, they are not returnable. This is why we send a written specification and, on new builds, physical samples for you to approve first.

You confirm the specification

The build sheet we return — pinout, wire gauge, tail lengths, sealing method, finished length — is the contract for that order. Production starts only after you confirm it in writing.

Quantity tolerance

On large runs, delivered quantity may vary slightly from the ordered figure. You are invoiced for the quantity delivered. Where an exact count is essential, say so and we will hold to it.

Tooling and set-up

Where tooling or set-up costs apply they are quoted separately and stated up front. Tooling paid for by you is reserved for your repeat orders.

Intellectual property

You confirm you have the right to any design, artwork, trademark or part number you ask us to apply, and you indemnify us against claims arising from it. Your drawings and specifications remain yours.
08 — Warranty and liability

Warranty

1 to 5 years depending on certification, plus lifetime technical support. Scope, exclusions and the claim process are set out in full on the warranty page, which forms part of these terms.

Limitation of liability

Our liability for any claim is limited to the invoice value of the goods concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including loss of profit, labour to remove and refit, or delay to a project — however caused.

Fitness for purpose

Products must be selected and installed for their rated environment, voltage and load. Where we recommend a specification we do so in good faith on the information given; the final decision on suitability for a particular installation rests with the buyer or their engineer.

Nothing here removes your statutory rights

Consumer protection law in your own country may give you rights that cannot be excluded by contract. Nothing in these terms is intended to limit those rights, and where a term conflicts with a mandatory consumer protection provision applying to you, that provision prevails.

09 — General

ClauseTerm
Force majeureNeither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control — including natural disaster, epidemic, war, strike, carrier failure, customs action, power or network failure, or government restriction.
Partial deliveriesWhere an order is fulfilled in instalments, each is treated as a separate contract for payment purposes. A dispute over one instalment does not entitle either party to repudiate the whole order.
NoticesWritten notice by email to the address used for the order is valid notice under these terms.
SeverabilityIf any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
Governing lawThese terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. The parties will attempt to resolve any dispute by negotiation in good faith before commencing proceedings.
Entire agreementThese terms, together with our written quotation, the confirmed build sheet for custom goods, the warranty and the shipping and privacy pages, form the entire agreement.

Questions before you order?

If a term does not fit how your business buys — payment staging, documentation, a specific Incoterm, consolidated shipping — ask. Most of it is negotiable in writing on larger orders.

We provide 7×24 emergency technical support, including weekends and public holidays, for live installations. Terms effective 27 August 2026 and subject to change; the version in force is the one published at the time your order is confirmed.
