Warranty & Lifetime Support
A warranty is only useful if you know exactly where it starts and where it ends. This page spells that out — what we replace free of charge, what counts as installation damage, and what we keep helping you with for as long as you own the product.
How long is your product covered?
Warranty length follows the certification the product carries, not the price you paid. Your invoice date is the start date.

“50,000 hours” is a test condition, not a promise
Every LED brand quotes a big number. Here is what it actually measures — and why the same LED strip can last four years in one job and fifteen in another.
LED lifetime is measured as L70 — the point at which light output has faded to 70% of day one (we go through the maths in how long LED strip lights actually last). The LED does not switch off; it dims so slowly that most people never notice. 50,000 hours at L70 is a laboratory figure measured at a controlled ambient temperature, usually 25°C, with the LED properly heat-sunk.
Heat, mostly — see do LED strip lights overheat. As a working rule in the industry, every ~10°C rise in junction temperature roughly halves usable life. Running hours matter just as much: the same fixture at 3 hours a day and at 12 hours a day reaches the same hour count four times apart in calendar years. Drive current, enclosure ventilation and LED driver quality do the rest — which is why an aluminium profile is a heat sink first and a diffuser second.

Figures are engineering estimates for planning purposes, not warranty terms. If you tell us the ambient temperature and running hours of your project before you order, we will recommend the LED strip lights density, LED driver headroom and heat-sinking that gets you to the life you need. That conversation is free and it is the single most useful thing you can do for a long-life installation.
Where the warranty starts and where it stops
We would rather be blunt here than argue with you later. Almost every dispute in this industry comes from one of the rows below.
This is the one that surprises people, so it is worth being explicit. An IP rating is a specification, not a safety margin. LED strip lights rated IP67 that is left permanently submerged in a pond has not failed — it has been used as an IP68 product. If the job is genuinely wet, start from the outdoor and waterproof range instead. Water gets in eventually, and no manufacturer on earth covers that. We are not looking for reasons to decline claims. We are asking you to check the rating before installing — and if you are unsure which rating your project needs, ask us first. That question takes us two minutes and saves you a rebuild.

Three things that look like faults but are not
If you are specifying for a client, these are worth knowing before installation day — they are physics, and they apply to every brand.
LED chips are sorted into bins, and adjacent bins differ very slightly. On a single wall, two reels from different production batches can read marginally different. This applies equally to single-colour and RGB runs. We ship a project from one batch whenever you tell us it is one continuous run — say so on the order and we will reserve it.
Voltage drop along the copper. On 12V it is visible past roughly 5m, on 24V past roughly 10m. The fix is injecting power at both ends or splitting the run — not a replacement LED strip lights. Send us your run length before you order and we will draw the feed points for you.
Expected lumen depreciation — the L70 curve from section 02. LED strip lights at 85% output after five hard years is performing normally. An LED strip that drops noticeably within months is not, and that is a claim.
Year 6 is not “sorry, out of warranty”
The warranty period governs who pays. It does not govern whether we help. Fourteen years of running this business has taught us that the customer with a five-year-old installation is the one most likely to specify us on the next project — so we treat that call the same as a pre-sales enquiry.
Send a photo or a short video. We will tell you what failed and why — LED driver, LED strip lights, LED strip connector or wiring — even if the answer means you do not need to buy anything from us.
Out of warranty, or installation damage: we supply the replacement section, LED driver or LED strip connector at a negotiated cost-based price rather than list. You pay freight.
Every order since 2012 is on file — exact CCT, density, IP class, cut length, LED driver model. Years later you get a match, not a guess. Just quote the order number.
Often a failure is one LED strip connector or one power feed. If your electrician can fix it on site, we will walk them through it rather than sell you a replacement run.

A clear photo of the fault, plus a short video if it flickers or cuts out intermittently. Include a wide shot of the installation — it usually tells us more than the close-up does.
An engineer looks at it, not a script. We may ask what LED driver is fitted or what the measured voltage is at the far end — that is us narrowing it down, not stalling.
Confirmed defect: we replace or refund and cover the return freight. Installation damage: we quote a cost-price part, or show your electrician the on-site fix if there is one.
