Honestly, it varies a lot. For a 1-meter strip on full brightness with standard AA batteries, you're looking at about 4-8 hours of continuous use. That's why many of these kits are for intermittent use, like inside closets or for accent lighting. The kits with motion sensors last much longer—weeks or even months—because they're only on for short bursts. For longer life, always use high-capacity rechargeable batteries.

You bet. All our battery operated LED strip lights can be cut. Just look for the designated cut marks, which are usually a little scissor icon or a line across a set of copper pads. You can only cut on these specific points. 

Yes, and for most uses, they're the smart choice. Good quality NiMH rechargeable batteries (like Eneloops) work great. They have a slightly lower voltage (1.2V vs 1.5V for alkaline), so the strip might be a tiny bit dimmer, but most people never notice. Given how quickly a bright strip can drain a set of batteries, rechargeables will save you a lot of money and hassle over time.

You have to match the voltage. Most of our battery operated LED strip lights run on 4.5V (3xAA batteries). Hooking up a 9V battery will instantly destroy the LEDs. A 5V USB power bank, however, is a great option and works perfectly for 5V strips—it'll last much longer than AAs. Just make sure the voltage of your power source matches the voltage requirement of the LED strip.

I wouldn't recommend it. The battery packs are specifically designed to provide enough power for the length of strip they ship with. If you double the length of the strip, you'll double the power draw. The result will be very dim light and a battery that drains incredibly fast. For longer runs, you need a plug-in power supply.
