2. Size the power supply
Watts per metre × metres ÷ 0.8. A 6 m run of 10 W/m COB needs 60 W, so buy 100 W. Over 10 m, feed from both ends or split into two supplies to avoid a dim far end.

3. Decide how you will control it
Wall dimmer (TRIAC-dimmable supply), a 2.4 GHz remote, or a Wi-Fi app with Alexa and Google. Colour-changing and tunable strips need a controller with the right number of channels; addressable LED strips need an SPI controller.
