Yes, absolutely. Our LED fountain lights are rated IP68, which means they're designed for continuous immersion in water. The bodies are typically 304 stainless steel to resist corrosion. IP68 is what you need for a permanent, fit-and-forget installation in a fountain basin.

The main difference is the shape. Most of our LED fountain lights are ring-shaped, with a hole in the middle. This is so you can install it directly around the fountain nozzle, illuminating the water jet right from the source. A standard submersible light, like most of our LED underwater lights, is a solid puck or spotlight you'd place at the bottom or side of a pool to light the whole body of water.

Installation involves mounting the light, usually over the fountain nozzle, and running the waterproof cable out of the basin to your power source. The fixture is secured to the plumbing or basin floor. The critical part is making sure all your connections are 100% waterproof using proper IP68-rated junction boxes and connectors, especially where you connect the light's cable to your main power run.

We recommend 24V for almost all fountain lighting. Water features often require longer cable runs from the fixture back to the power supply, and 24V handles voltage drop much better than 12V. You can get away with longer, thinner cables without the lights dimming at the end of the run. It's just a more robust and reliable system for this kind of permanent installation. Fountain lights can get covered in algae or hard water deposits, which dims the output. The best way to clean them is to turn off the power, drain the fountain if possible, and scrub the glass lens with a non-abrasive brush and a vinegar-water solution. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the seals or the fountain pump. Regular cleaning every few months will keep them looking bright.

Yes, they work perfectly for indoor water features, like in a hotel lobby or a tabletop water fountain with LED lights. The low-voltage DC power makes them completely safe for indoor applications. Just make sure your power supply is located in a dry, ventilated area away from the water itself.

First, add up the total wattage of all the fountain lights you'll be running. Then, choose a power supply with a wattage rating that's at least 20% higher than your total load. This is critical—it lets the power supply run cool and last longer. For a fountain, you must use a waterproof power supply. Don't use silicone. For bonding stainless steel fixtures underwater, you need a proper two-part marine-grade epoxy adhesive. It's designed for permanent submersion and bonds aggressively to metal. It's what boat builders use. Make sure both surfaces are perfectly clean and dry before you apply it, and give it the full cure time listed on the package before you refill the fountain.

For lighting the water jet itself, a narrow beam angle like 15 or 30 degrees works best. It concentrates the light into a tight column that follows the water upwards, making the stream pop. If you're trying to illuminate the entire fountain basin from the center, a wider angle like 45 or 60 degrees would be a better choice to spread the light out more.
