LED high bay light adopts ultra-narrow and thick pure aluminium plate to conduct heat dissipation and stamping + oil pressure + spinning process. The whole lamp is equipped with a respirator to make the lamp breathable, dry and fog-free, ensuring that the LED lamp can light up under harsh conditions. The whole lamp can be equipped with three kinds of lenses of 60 degrees, 90 degrees or 120 degrees. The entire lamp is waterproof up to IP65 and high CRI dimmable. Unlike LED floodlights (outdoor lighting, the light-emitting angle is more significant than 120 degrees, and the lighting range is wide), LED high bay lights are used in indoor high ceiling lighting, with large light-emitting angles and wide lighting ranges. A high bay light is a powerful fixture designed specifically for illuminating large indoor spaces with high ceilings, typically anything from 15 to 40 feet (about 4.5 to 12 meters). An LED high bay light uses lenses to direct its output downwards in a more controlled cone. This gets the light efficiently from the ceiling to the floor without excessive glare.
It's all about the mounting height. High bay fixtures are engineered for ceilings above 15-20 feet. They use specific optics to prevent the light from scattering too much on its way down. Low bay lights are for ceilings under 15 feet. Using a high bay light on a low ceiling can create uncomfortable glare and hot spots on the floor.
It's pretty straightforward for a qualified electrician. The fixture typically hangs from a hook that screws into a secure mounting point in the ceiling structure. You must always attach the included steel safety cable to a separate anchor point — this is a critical safety step. The light's power cord is then wired into a junction box with your AC100-265V mains power.
The ideal range is between 15 and 30 feet. If you mount them too low, you'll get very bright, concentrated pools of light with dark areas in between. If you mount them too high without the right narrow-beam optics, the light can feel dim by the time it reaches the floor. It's a balance between intensity (foot-candles) and uniformity.
