LED Underground Light

As an indispensable fixture in modern outdoor landscapes and architectural lighting, the core value of the underground light lies in its philosophy of "making the fixture invisible, allowing the light to grow from the ground up." This bottom-up illumination intensely contours the surface textures of architecture, the grandeur of columns, and the rich layering of tree foliage, delivering a highly artistic expression.

While ensuring pedestrian safety, it seamlessly preserves the pristine and original appearance of public spaces, walkways, and green belts. Equipped with specialized embedding boxes, these exterior ground lighting fixtures can be securely and stably recessed into concrete, asphalt, granite pavements, wooden decks, or manicured lawn soil.

In Ground LED Lighting

Underground LED lights are commonly used for outdoor landscape lighting and passway lighting. They are waterproof and compact enough to withstand foot traffic. Outdoor Underground Lights are generally IP67 waterproof, work normally in rainy weather; Underwater Underground Lights have a higher IP68 waterproof rating, they are specially designed for use in underwater environments such as swimming pools, ponds, etc.

Two Primary Typologies of LED Inground Lights

To adapt to diverse architectural layouts, our collection is bifurcated into two primary form factors: Round Inground Lights—ideal for localized accentuation, tree-canopy uplighting, and columnar illumination—and Linear Inground Lights, which excel at continuous, seamless wall-washing and continuous pedestrian guidance.

For absolute safety and longevity, the entire in-ground paver lights range is engineered for low-voltage (DC 12V/24V) operation to comply with stringent public safety standards, and features optional DMX512 or PWM dimming compatibility for intelligent, dynamic scenery control.

Frequently Asked Questions About LED Underground Lights

Your questions about installing and choosing the right in-ground lights, answered by our engineers.

Some are, but you have to check the specific model's load rating. A standard in-ground light is designed for foot traffic in a garden or walkway. For a driveway, you need a fixture with a reinforced stainless steel bezel and high-impact tempered glass designed to withstand vehicle weight.

Yes, that’s exactly what the included embedding box, or sleeve, is for. The correct process is to place the sleeve in your formwork and secure it before you pour the concrete. Run your conduit to it. After the concrete has cured, you can install the light fixture into the protective sleeve. This method ensures a perfect fit, protects the fixture, and allows for easier maintenance down the road.

Absolutely, and this is the number one failure point for any outdoor lighting. Don't bury direct wire-nut connections. You must use a proper underground waterproof junction box with an IP67 or IP68 rating to protect the connections from moisture. Even the best IP68 light will fail if water gets into the wiring behind it. It's the most critical part of the installation.

This almost always comes down to a compromised seal, usually at the cable entry point. It can happen if the cable gland isn't tightened properly during installation or if the connections were made without a fully waterproof underground junction box. Overtightening the fixture's faceplate screws can also sometimes warp the gasket. Check all your connections and seals; that's where the moisture is getting in.

For any run longer than about 5-7 meters (about 20 feet), go with 24V. With 12V systems, you can see visible dimming at the end of a long run, a problem called voltage drop. A 24V system carries the power more efficiently over longer distances, ensuring all your underground lights in the chain are equally bright. You'll also need a suitable DC12V waterproof power supply or DC24V waterproof power supply to match.

It's about the shape of the light they produce. A round LED underground light is perfect for creating focused uplighting on a tree, a column, or an architectural feature. A linear underground light is designed for washing a long, flat surface like a wall or a series of steps with a smooth, even sheet of light. Use round for accents, linear for grazing.

Yes, we do this all the time. A large part of our business is building fixtures to custom specifications. For linear in-ground lights, we can manufacture them to the specific lengths needed for your project. Just send our engineers a drawing—it can be a CAD file or just a sketch with dimensions. We'll send you back a complete parts list, a wiring diagram, and a quote, usually within 12 hours.
