What kinds of outdoor festival string lights are available?

Our range of LED string lights is built to solve specific decorative challenges, going beyond simple bulbs. You'll find several distinct form factors designed for different effects and locations.

  • Classic Fairy Lights: Fine, bendable copper wire strings with tiny LEDs, perfect for wrapping objects. We have models in lengths from 10m (32.8ft) up to 100m (328ft).
  • Traditional Bulb Strings: These feature classic C9 and C5 bulb shapes, many of which run on 120V AC for direct plug-and-play use.
  • Dynamic Effect Lights: Products like our LED Meteor Shower tubes create animated falling rain effects, ideal for trees and architectural overhangs.
  • Addressable RGBIC Strings: These addressable LED pixel module lights allow individual control of each LED, creating rainbow effects and complex animations. Many are sold as complete kits with controllers and power supplies.
  • Solar-Powered Lights: For areas without easy access to power, we have solar-powered string lights with an integrated 1.2V 600mAh battery that provides up to 15 hours of light from a 4-6 hour charge.

Holiday LED String Lights: Your Questions Answered

Got a question about setting up your holiday or patio lighting? I've answered thousands of them over the years. Here are the most common ones.

Yes, many of our outdoor string lights are waterproof, but you need to check the IP rating. Look for IP67, which means the string itself is protected against temporary immersion. That's more than enough for rain and snow. A common mistake is forgetting the power supply — make sure it's also rated for outdoor use or housed in a waterproof enclosure.

Our outdoor solar string lights are fully waterproof, typically IP67 rated. They work by charging an internal battery during the day via a small solar panel. A built-in sensor turns the lights on automatically when it gets dark. You'll get about 6-8 hours of light from a full day's charge. Just make sure you place the solar panel where it gets direct sunlight.

The main difference between incandescent and LED Christmas lights is technology and efficiency. LEDs use about 90% less energy, which is a big deal if you're running a lot of strands. They also last much longer—tens of thousands of hours versus one or two thousand for a filament bulb. Plus, they run cool, so they're safer around dry trees, and the bulbs are usually plastic, not glass, so they don't shatter.

It depends entirely on the voltage. You can usually connect a few strings together, up to a limit specified on the product. For long low-voltage runs, you need to run parallel wires from the power supply.

Addressable LED pixel string lights mean you can control every single LED individually. That's how complex animations like meteor shower effects or precise color gradients are done. Each LED has a tiny microchip (like a WS2811 IC) that gives it a unique 'address' on the string. This requires a specific type of controller, but it unlocks professional-level effects.

Absolutely, as long as you choose one of our 5V USB-powered models. These are perfect for situations where you don't have an outlet nearby, like decorating a wreath, a centerpiece, or for camping. Just plug it into any standard USB power bank, wall adapter, or even a laptop port.

They're all string lights, but for different looks. Fairy lights use tiny LEDs on a thin, flexible wire for a delicate, starry effect. C9 bulbs are the classic, large teardrop-shaped bulbs you see on houses at Christmas for a bold, traditional look. Meteor tube lights are vertical tubes with cascading LEDs inside that simulate falling rain or a meteor shower. We have different models of holiday lights so you can find the exact style you need.

Yes, we do this all the time. A large part of our business is building lighting to a customer's exact drawing. You can specify the total length, the spacing between bulbs, the length of the lead wire, and the type of connector you need on the end. Just send us a sketch or a description of what you need. An engineer will send you back a complete parts list and a price, usually within 12 hours.
