    The CV non-dimmable LED driver is specifically designed to provide a constant voltage output, a feature that is crucial for LED lighting systems requiring a stable voltage supply to operate efficiently. 

    This constant voltage characteristic ensures that the driver delivers a consistent power supply, which is essential for maintaining the performance and longevity of LED lights, especially in applications where the voltage must remain within a narrow range. 

    Although non-dimmable, indicating it doesn't offer brightness adjustment, the CV driver's unwavering voltage support makes it highly reliable for applications that do not necessitate dimming functionality. 

 

Constant Voltage vs Constant Current LED Drivers

Ltech non-dimmable LED lighting drivers are mainly divided into two types:

• Constant Voltage (CV) Drivers

These LED transformer drivers convert AC 200–240V input into a fixed DC output voltage—— 12V, 24V, or 48V. They are commonly used for low-voltage LED strip lights and other constant voltage applications where the load requires a stable voltage supply.

• Constant Current (CC) Drivers

These drivers convert AC 200–240V input into a regulated constant current output, typically ranging from 100mA to 1050mA, with an adaptive voltage range depending on the load. They are ideal for LED fixtures that require precise current control to maintain consistent brightness.

Frequently Asked Questions

A non-dimmable LED driver cannot be directly used with dimmers such as 0–10V, TRIAC, DALI, or other AC-side dimming systems, as it does not support dimming signals.
However, you can still adjust brightness on the low-voltage (DC) side by adding an inline LED controller or dimmer between the driver and the LED strip. In this setup:
1. The non-dimmable driver works only as a stable DC power supply;
2. The inline controller handles brightness adjustment or lighting control.
This is a common solution for LED strip lighting systems when you want flexibility without replacing the power supply.

Dimmable LED drivers are usually clearly labeled and designed with specific dimming features. You can identify a dimmable driver by checking:
• Product specifications or labels that mention “dimmable”;
• Supported dimming protocols such as TRIAC, 0–10V, DALI, or PWM;
• Presence of dedicated dimming input terminals (e.g., 0–10V ports, DALI bus terminals).
If none of these features are indicated, the driver is most likely non-dimmable.

It depends on your lighting control requirements.
1. **AC-Side Control:** If you have a wall dimmer (TRIAC, 0–10V) and want to control brightness directly from it, you **must** choose a compatible dimmable LED driver.
2. **DC-Side Control:** If you plan to use an LED controller (RF, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc.) on the low-voltage side, a **non-dimmable driver is sufficient**, as the controller will handle the dimming.
Choosing the right dimming type depends on whether you want to control lighting from the power source level or the controller level.
