Unlike a continuous LED strip, these modules are designed to be spaced apart to create a large, evenly lit area, perfect for backlighting sign cabinets or channel letters. The lens spreads the light wide, usually 175 degrees, so you can use fewer modules and still get a smooth, hotspot-free look.
Some are. You need to check the IP rating on the specific model's data sheet. We list several modules rated at IP65, which means they are dust-tight and protected against water jets. This is suitable for most outdoor sign cabinets where they're inside a housing. If the modules will be directly exposed to rain, you should look for a higher rating.
For very large signs, you can't just run one long string. The standard practice for these LED module lights is to inject power every 20-40 modules (check the spec sheet for the specific model). This means running parallel power lines from your power supply to multiple points in your module grid. This ensures every module gets the full 24V and maintains consistent brightness.
