Rectangular Pendant Profiles

It's simpler than it looks. The number one rule is to match the LED strip's PCB width to the profile's *inner width*. We list that spec for every one of our rectangular pendant models, which range from a slim 12mm up to 69.8mm. Just make sure the inner width of the channel is a millimeter or two wider than your strip. That's it. Everything else—end caps, suspension kits—is designed to fit.

They hang from steel cable suspension kits. These kits typically include a ceiling canopy that screws into a junction box or directly to the ceiling, a length of adjustable steel aircraft cable, and a fitting that attaches to the profile itself. You just adjust the cables to get the fixture perfectly level at the height you want. We sell the kits separately so you can choose the right length and style for your job.

That's called 'hotspotting', and it means your LED strip's density is too low for the diffuser's distance from the strip. To get a perfectly smooth, dot-free line, you have two options: use a deeper rectangular pendant profile, which moves the diffuser further from the LEDs, or use a higher-density LED strip. COB strips are the best for this, as they have no visible dots at all. We explain this more in our guide to diffusing LED light.

Yes, and for a few key reasons: flexibility and serviceability. With a pre-made fixture, you're stuck with its length, color temperature, and brightness. With our profiles, you choose everything. Five years from now, if a better, more efficient LED strip comes out, you can just swap the strip. If a driver fails, you can replace it. With a sealed all-in-one fixture, you usually have to replace the whole thing.

Absolutely. A huge amount of the profiles we ship are cut or finished to a customer's spec. The process is simple: send us a drawing. It can be a CAD file or just a sketch on a napkin with dimensions. We'll send you back a complete parts list and quote, usually the same day and always within 12 hours. We can cut to any length, machine mounting holes, and do custom powder coating or anodizing. There's no fee for the consultation.

The profile itself, being 6063-T5 aluminum, will last indefinitely. Its job is to ensure the LED strip inside lasts its full rated life, which is typically 30,000 to 50,000 hours. Heat is the main killer of LEDs, and by acting as an efficient heat sink, the aluminum profile prevents the strip from overheating and degrading prematurely. The final lifespan of your fixture will depend on the quality of the LED strip and driver you choose.
