It's all about signaling your body. Exposure to the cool, blue-rich light from a 6500K setting during the day suppresses melatonin, the hormone that makes you sleepy. As you shift the light towards a warm 2700K in the evening, you're reducing that blue light exposure. What's the difference between these tunable white sheets and your RGB+CCT sheets?

It comes down to the quality of the white light. These Circadian CCT sheets use two dedicated types of SMD 2835 LEDs—one warm white and one cool white. Blending these two gives you a very pure, high-quality white light across the entire temperature range. Our RGB CCT sheets are fantastic for dynamic color, but they create white light by mixing red, green, and blue LEDs. How many wires do I need for a tunable white LED sheet?

You'll need three wires. All our CCT sheets are 24V DC and have three connection points: a common positive (+24V), one negative for the warm white LEDs (WW), and one negative for the cool white LEDs (CW). You'll need to run 3-conductor cable from your controller to the sheet. We stock the 3-pin connectors and wire you'll need for the job.

What controller do I need to make the color change automatically?

To get that automated sunrise-to-sunset effect, you need a programmable CCT controller. Look for smart controllers that work over WiFi or Zigbee, as they can usually be programmed with 'scenes' or timed schedules using an app like Tuya, Smart Life, or by integrating with systems like Home Assistant. What's the best way to light a huge wall without wiring dozens of small sheets?

That's a common headache on big jobs. Daisy-chaining a lot of small panels creates a ton of wiring and potential failure points. The standard industry solution is just to deal with it, but we built a better one. For large, continuous surfaces, the clear winner is our super long tunable LED sheet roll. Can I dim the brightness as well as change the color temperature?

Yes, any CCT controller worth its salt will let you do both. The controller manages two things simultaneously: it adjusts the overall power going to both sets of LEDs to control brightness (dimming), and it adjusts the power ratio between the warm white and cool white LEDs to change the color temperature (CCT tuning). You get full control over both intensity and color.

How does circadian rhythm technology in LED sheets really work?

It works by influencing your body's production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. Your brain is hard-wired to react to the color of light. During the day, the cool, blue-heavy light of a 6500K setting mimics the sun and tells your brain to suppress melatonin, keeping you awake and alert. Do these sheets get hot enough to need a heat sink?

Generally, no. The flexible printed circuit board (FPC) is designed to spread the heat out, and in a typical backlighting application with some air behind the panel, they operate well within their thermal limits. The only time I'd recommend adding an aluminum plate as a heat sink is if you're installing the sheet in a very tight, completely sealed enclosure with zero airflow.

A 24V system can carry the same amount of power with half the current of a 12V system. This means less energy lost as heat in the wiring and, most importantly, much less voltage drop.
