Color Temperature Adjustable Hardwired Dimmable LED Puck Lights are a very practical and versatile lighting solution that excels especially in environments where flexibility in adjusting the lighting ambiance is required. The CCT selectable feature of the dimable puck light makes it very practical in kitchens and bathrooms, cabinets and closets. Users can choose warm light tones for a relaxing atmosphere or cool white for clear and bright task lighting.

Multiple these dimmable puck lights are connected to the controller and then to the power adapter via fixed cables, allowing you to adjust the light color temperature via a RF remote to meet your mood and task. You can have a light from warm white to cool white with the CCT dimmable led puck. Our kits make this easy, providing everything you need for effective under counter lighting.

How Does the CCT and Dimming Control Work?

The included RF (Radio Frequency) remote is the brain of the system. You don't need a direct line of sight to the receiver, which you can hide inside or on top of a cabinet. The remote gives you precise control over two separate functions:

  • Brightness: You can dim the lights from 100% down to about 10% for any color temperature you've selected.

  • Color Temperature: You can smoothly transition between the warm white (3000K) and cool white (6500K) LEDs. By mixing them, you can achieve any shade in between, like a neutral 4000K or a crisp 5000K. The remote has dedicated buttons to step through presets or fine-tune the color mix.

This level of control is what makes these puck lights so versatile for kitchen under cabinet downlights, allowing you to tailor the light perfectly to the time of day and the task at hand.

CCT LED Puck Light Kits: Your Questions Answered

Got questions about setting up your color-adjustable puck lights? I've been answering them for 12 years here. Here are the most common ones I hear.

CCT adjustable means you can change the color temperature of the white light. Our CCT LED puck light kits range from a warm, cozy 3000K, like an old incandescent bulb, up to a crisp, cool 6500K daylight. You use the included RF remote to blend the warm white and cool white LEDs inside each puck to get the exact shade you want, anytime you want.

For many kitchens, CCT LED puck lights are the best choice because you get total flexibility. You can dial in a bright, cool white for food prep, then shift to a warm, inviting glow for dinner or relaxing. This adaptability is why they're so popular. A fixed color temperature puck light can't do that; you're stuck with one look.

Both. These CCT LED puck lights are designed to be slim for a clean surface mount, which is the fastest way to install them. However, they can absolutely be recessed for a completely flush, built-in look. You'll just need to drill a hole of the correct diameter for the puck housing to sit inside.

It's not recommended. The power adapter and the distribution hub in each kit are specifically sized for the number of pucks included. Adding more pucks will overload the power supply, causing the lights to be dim, flicker, or fail entirely. If you need more than 8 pucks, it's best to use a second complete kit.

First, check the battery—that solves it 90% of the time. If it's not the battery, you may need to re-pair the remote to its receiver. The instructions are on the product page. If it's still dead, it could be interference from other RF devices. If all else fails, contact us. We can help you troubleshoot or get a replacement controller.

No, and this is a critical safety point. Do not ever connect these 12V pucks directly to 110V household power; it will instantly destroy them. In this context, 'hardwired' means the pucks themselves have fixed cables that connect to a central, low-voltage hub. That hub is then powered by a plug-in DC12V power adapter that we include in the kit.

Yes, you can. The RF controllers we use in our CCT puck light kits can typically be paired to multiple receivers. You'd install both kits, then follow the pairing procedure to 'teach' one remote to control both of the kits' receivers at the same time. This is great for larger kitchens where you have more than 8 pucks but want them all to act as one system.

It comes down to the look you want. CCT LED puck lights give you distinct pools of light, which can be a great design choice for highlighting specific areas or objects. It's a more traditional look. By contrast, tunable white LED strip kits are designed to create a continuous, seamless line of light with no gaps, which is better if you want a modern, dot-free glow. For the absolute best under cabinet lighting for a kitchen, the choice between them is purely aesthetic.

Absolutely. This is a huge part of what we do. A standard kit often doesn't fit custom cabinetry perfectly. Just send us a sketch or drawing of your bookshelf with the dimensions and where you want each puck. An engineer from my team will map it out and send you back a wiring plan and a quote for a custom kit with all the wire lengths cut exactly to size. We usually get this back to you the same business day, and there's no fee or obligation to order.
