Q: Can this UV LED sheet be cut to a smaller size?
A: Yes, you can cut the sheet along the marked lines between every 2x3 block of LEDs. This allows you to create custom shapes and sizes for your specific project.
Q: What kind of power supply do I need for this 365nm light sheet?
A: You need a DC 24V power supply. The wattage required depends on how many sheets you connect. Please refer to our Power Consumption Guide and add 20% headroom to your total calculated wattage.
Q: Is this sheet waterproof for outdoor use?
A: The standard model is IP20 rated, which is for indoor, dry locations only. We can provide a custom IP54 rated version with a protective spray coating for resistance to splashes; please contact us for custom orders.
Q: How many sheets can I connect together in one run?
A: While you can connect many sheets, for larger arrays (more than 4-5 sheets), we recommend using a parallel wiring configuration from a power distribution block. This prevents voltage drop and ensures all sheets are equally bright.
Q: Is this a 'black light' for parties?
A: While it is a black light, it is a professional-grade 365nm UV-A light, which is different from the more common 395nm 'purple' lights used for parties. 365nm light is less visible to the human eye but causes a much stronger fluorescent effect in reactive materials.
Q: Do I need a special controller to use it?
A: No special controller is needed for simple on/off operation; you can use a standard 24V switch. If you need to control the intensity, you can use any compatible 24V single-channel PWM LED dimmer.
Q: Why can I see a faint light when it's on?
A: True 365nm LEDs emit a small amount of visible light, which typically appears as a faint bluish-white color. This is normal and indicates you have a genuine 365nm source, not a 395nm or 405nm LED.
