RF CCT Remote Control
14 productsThe SkyDance RF CCT Remote Control Series is designed specifically for compatible SkyDance constant-voltage (CV) and constant-current (CC) CCT controllers, providing convenient handheld wireless operation for tunable white LED lighting. With these remotes, you can adjust brightness and color temperature, switch lights on or off, recall lighting scenes, and manage different lighting zones. Compatible control configurations also support wireless motion-sensing functions for automatic lighting operation.
Choose from different remote designs, including touch-sensitive controls and physical button-operated models. Single-zone and 4/8 multi-zone options are available to accommodate different lighting layouts, allowing you to adjust warm white and cool white output and set the desired brightness for each zone.
These handheld RF remotes are powered by either coin-cell batteries or AAA batteries, depending on the model. Using 2.4GHz RF wireless communication, they provide a control range of up to 30 meters under suitable conditions without requiring a wired connection to the CCT LED controller.
Synchronized or Independent Multi-Zone CCT Control
SkyDance RF CCT remotes allow multiple controllers and lighting installations to be operated together or independently. You can synchronize tunable white lights within the same area or manage separate rooms and zones individually, adjusting the color temperature and brightness of each lighting group according to your needs.
One remote can be paired with multiple compatible RF CCT controllers, while an individual controller can support pairing with 1–10 remotes. This allows the same tunable white lighting installation to be controlled from different locations using multiple handheld remotes.
FAQ About RF CCT Remote Control
Direct answers on wireless range, multi-zone pairing, battery life, and troubleshooting from our bench engineers.
An RF CCT remote control is a handheld 2.4GHz wireless transmitter designed to adjust the brightness and correlated color temperature of dual-white LED strip lights. Unlike infrared remotes that demand direct line-of-sight, an RF remote sends omnidirectional radio signals that pass cleanly through drywall, cabinetry, and furniture up to 30 meters away. The remote does not wire directly to the lighting. Instead, it transmits wireless commands to an RF receiver or driver wired between your DC power supply and the 3-wire or 2-wire tunable white LED tape.
Choosing an RF CCT remote control comes down to whether you prefer smooth variable blending or repeatable, tactile presets. Touch wheel models like the RS2 and RT8C let you dial color temperature continuously from 2700K warm white to 6500K cool white with a single sweep of your thumb. Slider remotes like the R12 provide quick linear CCT sweeps, while push-button remotes like the RK4-2 or EF-T give you tactile step dimming and quick-jump buttons (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) that you can operate without looking.
An RF CCT remote control in this series runs on either a single 3V CR2032 coin cell or two standard 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries. Ultra-slim handhelds like the R2, R7, and RM2 use the CR2032 lithium coin cell to keep the profile under 11 mm thick. Larger multi-zone models like the RT8C use AAA batteries for extended runtime. Because these remotes draw less than 5 µA in standby sleep mode and only transmit when a key is pressed, a fresh battery typically lasts 12 to 24 months under normal household use.
Pairing an RF CCT remote control takes less than five seconds using the receiver's physical Match key or an AC power-cycle sequence. For the Match key method, press the Match button briefly on the receiver, then immediately press the On/Off key (for single-zone remotes) or a Zone key (for multi-zone models); the LED strip flashes 3 times to confirm pairing. If the receiver is sealed in a ceiling cove, turn off the AC breaker, restore power, and immediately tap the remote zone key 3 times. To clear all paired remotes, hold the Match key for 5 seconds.
An RF CCT remote control can operate either a single room or up to 8 distinct lighting zones independently from one handset. We stock single-zone remotes like the R2, 4-zone remotes like the RS2 and RT7, and the 8-zone RT8C 8-zone CCT remote. Each individual zone button can pair with an unlimited number of RF receivers or dimmable drivers within wireless range. This allows you to dim under-cabinet LED strip lights on Zone 1, adjust ceiling cove CCT on Zone 2, and turn everything off together with the master power button.
Signal loss on an RF CCT remote control happens when structural barriers attenuate the 2.4GHz radio frequency before it reaches the receiver antenna. While drywall drops open-air 30 m range to roughly 15 m, metal studding, reinforced concrete, foil-backed thermal insulation, and closed metal junction boxes can cut RF range down to 5 m or block it entirely. To prevent dropouts on large layouts, mount receivers outside metal enclosures and take advantage of SkyDance's automatic mesh re-transmitting feature, where each receiver relays commands to the next unit up to 30 m away.
An RF CCT remote control works side by side with a wireless wall touch panel to command the exact same receivers. SkyDance receivers allow up to 10 different RF transmitters to pair with a single controller. That means you can mount a stationary battery-powered glass touch controller from our RF CCT wall panel remotes lineup by the entrance door, while keeping a handheld RF remote on the coffee table. Both transmitters track on/off state, brightness levels, and color temperature synchronously without cross-interference.
Power-off memory is stored directly inside the paired receiver or driver, not on the handheld RF CCT remote control itself. When you shut off the power using an upstream wall switch or experience a building power outage, the controller’s non-volatile memory chips retain your last selected CCT value and dimming level. When AC power is restored, your dual-white LED strip lights power back up at the exact Kelvin temperature and brightness you had set, without needing you to touch the handheld remote.
An indicator LED that lights up when you press a key shows the logic circuit is active, but it does not guarantee sufficient battery voltage to broadcast the 2.4GHz RF signal. When a CR2032 coin cell drops below 2.6V under load (from its nominal 3.0V), the remote indicator still lights up, but the RF transmitter chip fails to generate enough broadcast output power to reach the receiver. Replacing the battery resolves this immediately. If a fresh battery does not fix it, re-pair the remote to the receiver to refresh its stored address code.
