365nm UV LED Strip Backlighting | SuperLightingLED

The 365 nm UV light strip is a flexible tape that emits ultraviolet light with a wavelength centered at 365nm-370nm (longwave UV-A band). SuperLightingLED 365nm series utilizes SMD2835, SMD5050, and SMD3528 diodes as the light source, featuring a peak wavelength of around 370nm. These 365nm-370nm light strips are ideal for blacklight applications, general fluorescence detection, uranium glass activation, UV curing, as well as rockhounding and mineral collecting. If you intend to use LEDs for exciting manganese, cadmium, selenium glass, or for curing dried industrial inks, please verify whether the technical specifications meet your specific requirements beforehand.

What Color Is the 365nm LED Strip Light?

Our SMD2835 and SMD5050 365nm LED strips/panels, emit a bluish-white light with a blue halo. This visual appearance marks a clear distinction from 395nm lights; Also, 365nm excites fluorescent substances far more effectively and offers higher detection accuracy, allowing for professional curing applications.

Alternatively, our SMD3528 365-370nm LED strips display a dark bluish-purple hue with a more pronounced violet tone. You can select the ideal option based on your desired blacklight ambiance.

DIY Your Blacklight Lighting

Featuring a flexible cuttable design, our 365nm UV black light LED strips and sheets are perfect for DIY UV light boxes and fluorescence displaying. With strong adhesive backing, the blacklight installation is quick, secure, and long-lasting. DC12V or 24V power input, multiple densities, and waterproof ratings are available to meet your needs for different UV intensities and working environments.

365nm light plays only an indirect role in sterilization, bacterial inactivation, and DNA destruction, and requires extremely high UV intensity and very long exposure times; therefore, it is not suitable as a primary light source for disinfection and antisepsis. Although 365-nanometer LEDs pose a low risk of immediate harm, please do not look directly at the light source and minimize skin exposure to avoid long-term risks.

Frequently Asked Questions About 365nm UV LED Light Strips

Got a question before you buy? I've probably answered it a few thousand times. Here are the most common ones I get on the tech desk.

Yes, absolutely. Many fluorescent minerals, like sodalite (Yooperlites) or fluorite, react much more strongly and show their true colors under 365nm light. A 395nm light can excite them, but the extra visible purple light often washes out the subtle fluorescent colors. For serious mineral collecting, a 365nm UV light strip is the professional's choice.

Their primary job is to make things fluoresce. This is useful for curing resins, adhesives, and inks in industrial settings. It's also used for counterfeit detection on currency and documents, non-destructive testing of materials, forensic analysis, finding pet stains, charging glow-in-the-dark items, and displaying fluorescent minerals or uranium glass collections.

Yes, you do. While UV-A is the least harmful type of ultraviolet light, direct and prolonged exposure to your eyes is a bad idea. It can cause long-term damage. Always wear proper UV-blocking safety glasses when you're working with these strips, especially high-power models or for extended periods. It's a simple precaution that makes a big difference.

This depends on the irradiance, measured in milliwatts per square centimeter (mW/cm²), at a specific distance. Your resin or adhesive manufacturer will specify the required irradiance and exposure time. For high-demand applications, you'll want one of our high-density or multi-row strips. You may need to test a sample to validate your process.

You sure can. All our flexible 365nm UV light strips have designated cut marks, usually every 3 or 6 LEDs. Just snip along the marked line with a pair of scissors. You can then use 2-pin connectors or solder wires directly to the copper pads to connect your power source. It's straightforward.

UV-A is the longwave band of ultraviolet light (315-400nm), which is closest to visible light. It's what our 365nm strips emit. It's the least energetic and least harmful form of UV, but that doesn't mean it's completely harmless. Avoid staring into the LEDs and wear UV-blocking glasses for prolonged exposure. It's much safer than UV-B or germicidal UV-C light.

It comes down to the size and power of the LED chip. SMD5050 chips are larger (5.0mm x 5.0mm) and generally brighter per chip. SMD2835 chips are smaller but very efficient, and we use them in our high-density and high-power strips. SMD3528 is an older, smaller chip type we use in some specific models.

We do this all the time. A large part of our business is building lighting to customer drawings that never even appears on the website. Just send us a sketch of what you need—the dimensions, required power, and LED density. An engineer will send back a complete wiring diagram and parts list, usually within 12 hours. There's no fee for the consultation and no obligation to order.
