Skirting & Baseboard LED Channel Series

Think about the effect you want. For general ambient light washing down the floor, a down-lighting profile is best. For hallways or stairs where you need guidance, a side-lighting profile that grazes the wall works great. For accenting wall textures from below, use an uplight. We list 26 distinct models, so consider the height you want and whether you can recess it into the drywall for a clean finish or need a simple surface-mount option for a finished room.

It's all about the final look and when you install it. A surface-mount channel screws directly onto the finished wall, which is fast and great for retrofits. A plaster-in or 'trimless' channel gets installed before the final coat of plaster or drywall mud. The wall finish comes right up to the edge of the diffuser, making the light source look like it's built directly into the wall. It's a cleaner look, but it's a job for a new build or a major renovation.

It varies by model, so you have to check the product specs. Our range is designed for LED strips from 8mm up to 15mm wide. Each product page lists the 'Inner Width' under specifications — that's the number you need to match. Most of our popular 2835 SMD strips will fit perfectly, but always double-check that number before ordering.

Yes, they're much tougher than typical MDF or pine baseboards. They're made from 6063-T5 aluminum, so they won't get dented or damaged by a vacuum cleaner or a misplaced kick. The polycarbonate diffuser is also very resilient. They're designed to be a permanent, durable part of your wall structure.

This is the most important part to plan. In new construction, the wiring is run behind the drywall just like any other electrical line. The LED driver (the power supply) is typically located remotely in a utility closet, basement, or another accessible, ventilated area. You can't just spackle it into the wall. You need a low-voltage wire running from the driver's location to the start of the baseboard run. 

You can, and we have profiles specifically for it. Models like our Tile Wall LED Baseboard Profile are designed to integrate with the tile and grout lines. You install the channel first, flush with the tile backer board, and then the tiler works up to it. It creates a really clean, waterproof, and modern effect that's perfect for bathrooms and kitchens.

It's about where they're designed to be installed and what kind of abuse they can take. Skirting channels go on the vertical wall at the bottom. Our floor and stair channels are engineered to be installed flush *in* the floor itself. They're built to be walked on, with extra-thick, durable diffusers and a much heavier-duty construction.

We do. Our LR Series, like the 5213LR and 6713LR models, are made from a softer aluminum that can be bent on-site to follow the curve of a wall. These are designed for lateral (left-right) bends. Just be sure to check the minimum bending radius on the product page to make sure it will work for your specific curve.

Absolutely. This is a huge part of what we do. Many of our projects are built to a customer's drawing, not just sold off the shelf. Send us a sketch or your list of wall lengths, and our engineers will map out a plan with channels cut to size, usually within 12 hours. There's no fee for the consultation. For larger projects, we can also provide custom anodized colors beyond the standard silver, white, and black.
