Extra Wide LED Channels for Offices, Retail & Large Interior Spaces

SuperLightingLED's Extra Wide LED Channel Series is designed for LED lighting projects where a standard aluminum profile is simply too narrow for the required light output, LED strip width, or visual scale. With profile widths ranging from approximately 100mm to 200mm (4–8 inches), these channels provide substantially more internal space for multiple LED strips, multi-row LED tape, and wider high-output LED sources. This makes the series particularly suitable when the goal is not just accent lighting, but broad, bright, and visually continuous linear illumination.

Extra-wide channels are especially useful for users who need high lumen output, multiple rows of LED tapes, or a large-area light source. Typical users include architects, lighting designers, electrical contractors, commercial lighting installers, signage and display builders, office fit-out teams, and advanced DIY fabricators working on larger linear-lighting projects. They are particularly valuable for:

  • Office & Workplace Lighting — wide suspended or surface-mounted fixtures can provide broad downward illumination over desks, work areas, conference tables, and circulation spaces.
  • Commercial & Retail Lighting — multiple LED rows can create a brighter, wider luminous source for stores, showrooms, reception areas, and display environments.
  • Garages, Workshops & Utility Spaces — extra-wide channels can hold high-output LED strips to produce broad general illumination rather than a narrow accent line. The category is specifically positioned for offices, basements, garages, and workplaces requiring higher light output.
  • Architectural Linear Lighting — use a wide profile when the lighting itself needs to become a substantial ceiling or wall element.
  • Custom Pendant Fixtures — some large profiles can conceal multiple LED strips, wiring, and associated components inside a single housing, creating a clean, finished linear pendant fixture. The 200mm × 85mm pendant profile, for example, is designed for large linear lighting over kitchen islands, offices, garages, and workspaces.

100mm, 120mm, 150mm or 200mm — How Wide Should Your Channel Be?

The wider the channel, the greater the potential luminous surface, but wider does not automatically mean better. Select the profile based on the LED strip width, number of rows, required brightness, mounting space, and visual scale of the room.

  • A 100mm profile is a practical starting point for projects that need more width than a conventional linear channel while maintaining a relatively compact appearance.
  • A 120–150mm profile provides more room for multi-row LED arrangements and broader light output.
  • A 200mm profile is appropriate when the lighting element itself is intended to have a substantial architectural presence or when very wide LED arrangements are required.

Large LED channels are not only about width. Length also matters when designing a continuous linear fixture.

SuperLightingLED offers Extra Wide profiles in 1m, 2m, and 2.44m lengths, providing options for smaller installations as well as longer commercial linear-lighting projects. Multiple sections can be joined to create longer continuous runs.

Need more light, more LED rows, or a larger visual footprint than a standard channel can provide? Choose an Extra Wide LED Channel and build the lighting system around the space you need to illuminate.

Frequently Asked Questions About Extra Wide LED Channels

Got a question about our super wide profiles? We've probably answered it here. If not, just ask.

It's all about light output and scale. These extra wide LED channels, from 100mm to over 200mm, are built to hold multiple LED strips side-by-side. This lets you create a single, powerful light fixture that can serve as the primary illumination for a whole room, like an office or garage, instead of just an accent.

Yes, that's exactly what they're designed for. For instance, our 150mm wide channels have about 140mm of internal space, so you can easily run five or six standard 10mm wide strips in parallel. Just remember to add up the total wattage of all the strips to choose a power supply that can handle the load.

They are definitely more substantial than a standard profile. A 2-meter section of our 200mm channel, loaded with strips and a driver, has real weight. You must use a proper suspension kit and anchor it directly to ceiling joists or use heavy-duty toggle bolts. Standard drywall plugs will not hold it safely.

Some of them, yes. A few of our deeper profiles, like the 150x75mm or 120x75mm bilayer models, are specifically designed with a separate compartment to hide drivers and wiring. This is perfect for suspended pendant lights where you want an ultra-clean look with no visible junction boxes on the ceiling.

Yes, absolutely. A huge part of our business is building custom fixtures. We can cut any ultra wide LED profile to the exact millimeter you need, and we can also arrange custom powder coating to match any RAL color. Just send us a sketch of what you need—even a photo of a napkin drawing works. An engineer will send back a full parts list and a quote, usually within 12 hours. There's no fee and no obligation to order.

It's pretty easy. The plastic diffuser cover is designed to snap in and out. You just gently pry it off starting from one end, peel out the old strip, and stick the new one down.

Absolutely. That's a perfect use case. A fixture like our 200mm wide office profile, loaded with two or three rows of high-output LED strips, will throw more—and better quality—light than a traditional 4-foot fluorescent shop light. You get bright, even illumination right over your workspace.
