5630 SMD Flexible LED Strip Lights
20 productsOur 5630 LED strip series is one of the highest-lumen output product lines in our single-color and dynamic tunable white collection, second only to our 5730 LED series. Under our product specifications, a single 5630 SMD LED can generate up to 27.5 lumens of 3000K warm white light. To put this into perspective, the brightness of a 5630 strip with 60 LEDs/m is equivalent to: 96 LEDs/m of 5050, 200 LEDs/m of 3014, 300 LEDs/m of 2216, 350 LEDs/m of 2110, 120–140 LEDs/m of 2835, 240 LEDs/m of 3528. This remarkable efficiency makes our 5630 LED strips the ideal choice for task lighting, architectural lighting such as high-visibility stairwell illumination, or any application requiring high luminous flux and exceptional clarity.

Why Does the 5630 LED Chip Deliver Such Powerful Lighting Performance?
The secret behind the exceptional luminous flux of the 5630 SMD LED lies in its advanced chip geometry, thermal architecture, and electrical efficiency:
Larger Surface Area
With a significantly larger footprint than mid-power chips like the 2216 or 3014, the 5630 package accommodates a larger LED die. This expanded light-emitting surface allows it to handle higher driving currents (typically up to 150mA) and emit a much broader, more intense beam of light without saturating the phosphor layer.

Superior Thermal Management (Exposed Heat Sink Pad)
Heat is the primary enemy of LED efficiency and lifespan. The LED 5630 SMD package features a specialized, enlarged thermal pad on its backside that creates a direct conductive path to the copper PCB. By effectively drawing heat away from the LED junction, the chip maintains optimal operating temperatures, preventing thermal throttling and maintaining high lumen maintenance over extended periods.
High Efficacy per Watt
Because the 5630 lights LED chips convert electrical power into visible light with outstanding optical efficiency, it generates up to 114-121 lumens per watt while drawing relatively low energy 7.2W-38.4W. This makes it a high-output, energy-dense solution for installations that require raw brightness without clogging the PCB with hundreds of tiny components.
2835 vs 3528 vs 5050 vs 5630
When navigating SMD options for primary illumination, understanding how the 5630 compares to other common LEDs highlights its exceptional value. If you need decorative or ambient lighting, smaller chips will suffice. But when your project demands maximum brightness, high luminous flux, and crystal-clear task visibility, the 5630 LED strip is the clear winner.

Frequently Asked Questions About 5630 SMD LED Strip Lights
Your project's success is in the details. Here are the straight answers to the questions we get asked every day about our 5630 strips.
The flicker or buzz almost never comes from the strip itself. It's an incompatible wall dimmer and LED driver. You cannot wire a standard AC wall dimmer (like Lutron or Leviton) directly to a low-voltage led strip 5630 smd. The chain of command is: Wall Dimmer -> Dimmable Driver -> Strip. Make sure your driver is compatible with your dimmer (e.g., TRIAC/ELV). If you're not sure, our RF dimmer and controller kits bypass the wall switch issue entirely for smooth, 0-100% PWM dimming.
Our 5630 LED strip lights come in both 12V and 24V DC versions. For runs longer than 5 meters (16.4ft), always choose 24V. It handles the power better over distance, meaning you'll have less visible voltage drop and more consistent brightness from start to finish. For short runs like retail displays or under-cabinet lighting, 12V is perfectly fine and often more convenient if you're tapping into an existing 12V system.
Yes, we offer them with several levels of water resistance. The standard is IP20, which is uncoated for indoor, dry locations only. For kitchens or bathrooms where it might get splashed, you'll want an IP65-rated strip with a silicone coating. We also have IP67 (in a silicone tube) and IP68 (fully submersible) versions for outdoor or wet applications. Just remember that any coating slightly reduces the brightness and traps more heat, making an aluminum channel even more important.
Yes, higher luminous flux in 5630 LEDs often comes with a slight trade-off in Color Rendering Index (CRI). To achieve a higher CRI (such as Ra90+), more specialized red phosphors are used to enrich the light spectrum, which absorbs a small amount of optical energy and reduces the total lumen output by roughly 10% to 15%. Conversely, an Ra80 configuration maximizes lumen efficacy for superior brightness, making it ideal for spaces where raw illumination is prioritized over high color accuracy. Always check the CRI rating on the spec sheet if color accuracy is important for your project.
