Application Scenarios
How to Install & Use This RGBCCT LED Strip
- Ensure the mounting surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or oils. Use an isopropyl alcohol wipe for best results.
- Measure the required length and carefully cut the LED strip at the designated copper cut marks.
- Connect the 6-pin wire of the strip to a compatible 5-channel RGBCCT controller. Connect the controller to a 24V DC power supply.
- Power on the system briefly to test the strip, controller, and connections before final installation.
- Peel the protective layer from the adhesive backing and firmly press the strip onto the prepared surface, holding for 30 seconds.
- For corners or breaks, use 12mm 6-pin L-connectors or solder wires for a secure connection.
- Do not exceed the maximum run length of 5 meters in a single series to avoid voltage drop, which can cause dimming at the far end.
- Ensure your 24V DC power supply has at least 20% wattage headroom. For a full 5m reel (120W max), use a power supply rated for 150W or higher.
- This strip requires a 5-channel (R, G, B, WW, CW) RGBCCT controller to access all color and CCT functions.
- The standard IP20 version is for indoor, dry locations only. For bathrooms, kitchens, or outdoor use, please select the IP65, IP67, or IP68 rated versions.
- Avoid bending the strip sharper than its minimum bend radius to prevent damage to the circuit and LEDs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is RGBCCT and how is it different from RGB or RGBW?
A: RGBCCT stands for RGB + Correlated Color Temperature. Unlike RGBW which has one white chip, RGBCCT has two dedicated white chips (Warm White and Cool White), allowing you to blend them for any shade of white, in addition to full RGB color mixing. It offers the most complete color control.
Q: Is this versatile led strip light dimmable?
A: Yes, the strip is fully dimmable. Dimming is controlled through the RGBCCT controller.
Q: Can I connect multiple 5m reels together in one long run?
A: We do not recommend connecting more than one 5m reel in series from a single power feed due to voltage drop. For longer runs, you should power each 5m section separately or run parallel wires from the power supply.
