Features

1. There are 144 Addressable RGB LEDs per meter,  and 12mm wide for 144 LEDs/meter, DC5V input, and you can control each LED individually!  This is the digitally-addressable type of LED strip. You can set the color of each LED's red, green and blue component with 8-bit PWM precision (so 24-bit color per pixel).

2. The LEDs are controlled by shift-registers that are chained up down the strip so you can shorten or lengthen the strip.

3. The PWM is built into each LED-chip so once you set the color you can stop talking to the strip and it will continue to PWM all the LEDs for you.

4. The SK9822 is almost a direct replacement to the APA102 and is superior in some respects, most  importantly its built-in constant-current control, If you have ever tried to power a long string of LED strips and only connect one end to the power supply, you may have noticed that the far end of the LED strip has a low voltage on its power rail due to the resistance in the long power connection. For LED strips based on APA102C and WS2812B, use dimmer voltage and red color. With SK9822, as long as the voltage remains above 3.5v, this voltage drop is unlikely to have a noticeable effect.

5. The protocol for the SK9822 is very similar to the protocol for the APA102C, but it updates the colors displayed at different times. If you replace the APA102C LED with the SK9822 LED in a low-framerate application, you may need to update the code that our APA102 Arduino library USES with the SK9822, so you can use it directly or write your own code as a reference. The color generated by SK9822 is different from the color generated by APA102C, so we do not recommend mixing APA102C and SK9822 in a single project.

Which controller does this LED strip light need?
Addressable LED strip lights take a data signal, so they need an SPI (pixel) controller that supports this IC — an ordinary RGB controller will not drive them. Data flows one way: connect the controller to the input end marked with the arrow. Wiring addressable LED strip lights
Do I need power injection?
