As a fixed IC chip outside the LED package, a single TM1914 or TM1934 simultaneously controls all LEDs in a single cut-out zone, with RGB/CCT/White color programming via an SPI-compatible controller.

Yes, you do. These strips use 4 wires: Positive (+V), Ground (GND), Data (DI), and Backup Data (BI). You can't use standard 3-pin addressable connectors or most 4-pin RGB connectors because the pinout is different. You need connectors specifically designed for this 4-wire setup. These strips use a data signal that's compatible with the common WS2811 protocol. That's great news because it means they work with a huge range of controllers. Anything that can output a WS2811 signal, or popular DIY solutions like WLED or an Arduino with the FastLED library, will control them perfectly.
