It lets you be the lighting designer. Instead of just picking a static color or a canned effect from a remote, you use software on your computer to build custom sequences from scratch. You can program precise color transitions, set up complex multi-zone chases, or schedule an entire day's worth of lighting changes. It's for when you need granular control for architectural, event, or high-end residential lighting.

This is a key question. Most of our PC software controllers have onboard memory. You use the computer to build and upload your lighting programs, but once they're saved to the controller, it can run them completely standalone. You can disconnect the PC and the controller will play back the sequence whenever it's powered on. This is essential for permanent installations.

No, and this is a critical distinction. These are PWM controllers made for standard 4-pin RGB LED strips where the entire strip is one color at a time. Addressable LED strips (also called pixel, dream color, or rainbow) have a data line and require a completely different type of addressable SPI controller. They are fundamentally incompatible technologies. Plugging one into the other simply won't work.
