Common CCT Tunable White LED Strip Lights are usually three-wire, i.e. one positive, one warm white negative, and one cool/daylight white negative. Tunable White LED Tape has two color temperature LED lights, usually 2700K/3000K warm white and 6000K/6500K daylight white in the form of 2-in-1 tunable white LED or independent W+W tunable white LED.

2835 CCT adjustable white light strips come in two types: WW+CW (separate color temperature LEDs) and all-in-one (2-in-1 bi color) CCT. The main difference between these two types lies in their suitability for your intended installation.
All-in-one 2835 CCT light strips typically feature a denser distribution of color temperature LEDs (regardless of which color temperature is displayed) and a narrower PCB width, such as 5 mm or 8 mm.
The WW+CW 2835 CCT type may have a higher total number of LEDs for the same width, but if you prioritize the display of a single color temperature, it may actually have fewer LEDs dedicated to that specific color temperature.
For example, our 8mm 208 LEDs/m 10-meter CCT adjustable strip, although it has 208 LEDs per meter, actually contains only 104 warm white LEDs and 104 cool white LEDs—fewer than our 8mm 120 LEDs/m 3838 2-in-1 CCT strip. However, our 10mm 360 LEDs/m ultra uniform LED white switchable light strip features 180 individual warm white and 180 individual pure white LEDs per meter. So, which type you choose depends entirely on your lighting needs.

Standard 3-wire CCT-adjustable white LED strips use PWM dimming, so the corresponding CCT driver or controller can only change the color temperature of the entire strip at once—for example, switching an entire strip from warm white to neutral white.
If you want to achieve a lighting display on a bookshelf where one compartment is bright white and the next is warm white, you’ll need to use addressable CCT light strips. You can set the corresponding colors based on the number of ICs in each shelf compartment—for example, if the first compartment has 6 ICs and the second has 6 ICs, set ICs 1–6 to bright white and ICs 7–12 to warm white.

It's simpler than it looks. You have three wires because you're controlling two separate channels of LEDs. One wire is the common positive (+24V, for example). The other two are the negatives: one for the warm white LEDs (WW) and one for the cool white LEDs (CW). Your tunable white controller sends power down the WW wire to make it warmer, the CW wire to make it cooler, or both to blend them. You can't wire this directly to power; you must use a CCT controller.
For most residential runs under 10 meters, 18 AWG wire is perfectly fine. 14 gauge is usually overkill unless you have a very long, high-power commercial installation. The key is matching the wire gauge to the current (Amps) and the distance to prevent voltage drop. A short under-cabinet run might only need 20 AWG, while a 15-meter architectural run might need 16 AWG. If you give us your total length and strip wattage, we can calculate the exact wire you need.
For perfect, reflection-free dimmable kitchen lights, you have to use a channel. Don't stick the bare strip directly to the underside of the cabinet. A shallow aluminum channel with a frosted diffuser will blend the light, kill the glare on your stone countertops, and protect the strip from cooking grease and steam. Yes, we stock several. The 8mm PCB width is a common choice for fitting inside slim profiles or narrow architectural details. Just be aware that on a narrower board, heat dissipation is a bit more critical. For a high-output 8mm led white strip, mounting it inside an aluminum channel isn't just for looks—it's essential for pulling heat away from the LEDs and ensuring a long life.
This is a classic trap. While the white wire is often the common positive on many strips, there is no universal standard. I've seen it used for the cool white negative, too. Don't guess. The correct function is always printed right on the strip's circuit board next to the solder pads, usually as '+', 'WW', and 'CW'. Always trust the PCB markings, not the wire color.

The strip itself doesn't speak Zigbee, but the controller can. You just need to pair our 3-wire tunable white strip with a Zigbee CCT controller. That controller acts as the bridge. We sell our professional-grade strips by the reel, typically 5 or 10 meters, because that's how contractors and designers need to buy them. However, every strip has clearly marked cut points, usually every 25mm to 100mm (1 to 4 inches). This means you can easily cut a perfect 4ft LED strip, or any other exact length you need, with just a pair of scissors. It gives you far more precision than being stuck with fixed-length sections.
