Engineered with a unique serpentine PCB, this strip bends and curves laterally, allowing you to create tight turns and follow complex contours without cutting and soldering. Its ultra-narrow 6mm profile is perfect for applications where space is at a premium, such as intricate channel letters, custom signage, and architectural accents. Utilizes high-efficiency SMD 2835 LEDs to deliver a strong balance of brightness and low power consumption at 6W/m.

Operating on a reliable DC 12V, and with a density of 72 LEDs per meter, this strip provides smooth, consistent illumination. This model is an excellent choice for projects requiring the unique flexibility found in our s-type led strips for signs collection, but with a specific 12V power requirement and a denser LED layout for enhanced visual continuity. 

We also offer an S-type version with an ultra-high LED density of 120 lights.

How to Install & Use This LED Strip

  1. Ensure the mounting surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or oils. 
  2. Measure the required length and carefully cut the strip along the designated copper cut marks (every 3 LEDs).
  3. Solder lead wires to the copper pads.
  4. Connect the strip to a suitable 12V DC power supply and dimmer (if used). 
  5. Peel the adhesive backing and firmly press the strip onto the prepared surface, holding for 30 seconds to ensure a strong bond.
  6. For complex shapes, gently bend the strip into the desired wave or curve as you apply it.
⚠ Precautions
  • Do not exceed the maximum run length of 5 meters in a single series to avoid voltage drop, which can cause dimming at the far end.
  • Always use a 12V DC power supply with a wattage rating at least 20% higher than the total wattage of the strip length being used.
  • This is an IP20 rated strip. It is for indoor, dry location use only. Do not expose to moisture or humidity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes this an 'S-Shaped' or 'Wave' LED strip?

A: The flexible printed circuit board (PCB) is cut in a serpentine or 'S' pattern, which allows the strip to bend and curve sideways, unlike standard strips that can only bend up and down.

Q: What power supply do I need for a full 5-meter reel?

A: A full 5-meter reel consumes 30 Watts (5m x 6W/m). We recommend a 12V DC power supply with at least 36 Watts of power to provide a 20% safety margin.

Q: Can I connect two 5-meter reels together for a 10-meter run?

A: No, we do not recommend connecting more than 5 meters in series. Doing so will cause significant voltage drop, resulting in the LEDs at the end of the strip being noticeably dimmer. For longer runs, you must power sections in parallel from the power supply.

Q: Is this LED strip dimmable?

A: Yes, it is fully dimmable. You can control the brightness using a compatible 12V PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) LED dimmer connected between the power supply and the strip.

Q: What is the main advantage of the 6mm width?

A: The ultra-narrow 6mm width allows it to be installed in very tight spaces, such as thin aluminum channels, shallow sign letters, and intricate design elements where wider strips would not fit.
