Match the number of pins to the number of copper pads on your LED strip. It's pretty straightforward: 2-pin for single color, 3-pin for tunable white (CCT) or some addressable strips, 4-pin for RGB, 5-pin for RGBW, and 6-pin for RGB+CCT. Choosing the wrong pin count is a common mistake.
Yes, that's exactly what they're designed for. Our strip-to-strip and strip-to-wire piercing connectors let you rejoin cut segments of waterproof LED strip lights without any soldering. This maintains the weatherproofing along the entire run, which is critical for outdoor installations. Just be sure to check the PCB width (e.g., 10mm or 12mm) to get the right size.
Most of the time, the problem is an incomplete connection inside the housing. You have to make sure the metal pins inside the connector have fully pierced the flexible PCB of the LED strip. We stock standard lengths up to 10 meters (about 33 feet), like our extra long 2-pin extension. But the real limit is voltage drop, not the cable itself. On a 12V system, you'll see a noticeable dimming after about 5-7 meters. On a 24V system, you can go much further, maybe 10-15 meters, depending on the load. If you need a very long run, we can build you a custom extension with thicker gauge wire to minimize the drop.
Yes, but you have to get the right connector. Because COB strips have a smooth, continuous line instead of individual SMD chips, the piercing mechanism needs to be designed for them. We have specific COB waterproof connectors that are built to make a secure connection without damaging the strip. Don't try to use a standard SMD connector on a COB strip; it likely won't work well.
