Your project's already on spec. Here are the real-world answers to get the wiring right the first time.
This is the most common place a project goes wrong. Add up the total wattage of your LED strips, then add another 20% as a safety buffer. For example, if you have 10 meters of strip that uses 9.6W per meter (96W total), you'd want a power supply rated for at least 115.2W. So, you'd pick a 120W or 150W model. Never run a power supply at 100% of its rated load; it shortens its life. We have a full guide on how to choose the right power supply if you want to go deeper.
You can, but you have to be careful. These power supplies are AC-to-DC converters, meaning they take 110V or 220V AC from shore power or a generator and turn it into 12V DC. They are not designed to run directly off a boat's 12V DC battery system. For direct battery connection, you'd need a DC-to-DC converter or a fuse block. But for dockside lighting or systems running off an inverter, an IP67 model is exactly what you need for the wet environment.
That's a tough spot. If there are no markings at all, the safest way is to use a multimeter. Set it to DC voltage and measure the output terminals to confirm it's 12V. For the wattage, you'll have to look at the LED strip it was powering. Find the watts-per-meter spec for that strip, calculate the total load, add 20%, and that's the wattage you need for the replacement.
