TM1914 IC Programmable LED Strips
28 productsTM1914 and TM1934 are 4 pin addressable led strip IC chips, with redundant data signals, compatible with 12 and 24 volt operation, capable of data rates up to 800kbps and PWM frequencies up to 666Hz. As a fixed IC chip outside the LED package, a single TM1914 or TM1934 simultaneously controls all LEDs in a single cut-out zone, with RGB/CCT/White color programming via an SPI-compatible controller.
As non-individually addressable LED strips, TM1914 and TM1934 have their color presentation directly influenced by the number of ICs on the flexible PCB strip. A higher number of ICs significantly enhances the delicacy and richness of the color display, resulting in superior lighting effects for interior and exterior projects.
The signal integrity of the TM1914 and TM1934 4 wire led strips is maintained over longer distances when compared to the 12-volt DC-driven WS2815, SK6813, WS2818, GS8208 and 5-volt low-voltage-driven WS2813 led tape strip lighting. Our 24V RGB TM1934 4 prong led strip can expand up to 20 meters 65.6 feet away with a single-ended signal input. Pick up your order now!

TM1914 vs. TM1934 vs. TM1834
The TM1914 IC can be completely replaced by the upgraded TM1934. As a legacy IC model, TM1914 no longer offers advantages in either cost or driving performance in addressable LED strips.
SUPERLIGHTINGLED TM1934 series features an expanded product line that covers Single White, Tunable White (2-in-1 CCT, 3-in-1 CCT), and full RGB LED configurations. Beyond standard 5050 SMD packages, it supports compact 2835 SMDs for ultra-high-density, spot-free linear illumination with waterproof neon housing.
Meanwhile, the TM1834 is a specialized 4-channel RGBW IC featuring a backup data signal (DAT + BKP). It provides separate white-channel output and ultra-smooth 4-color mixing—making it the superior choice for high-end commercial projects requiring independent true-white task lighting alongside dynamic color effects.

Frequently Asked Questions About TM1914 & TM1934 LED Strips
Got questions before you spec your job? I've been answering these for 12 years. Here are the common ones I hear about TM1914 and TM1934 strips.
Honestly, not much that you'll notice on the job site. The TM1934 is just a slightly newer version of the TM1914 integrated circuit (IC). They use the same data protocol, have the same breakpoint resume feature, and you control them the exact same way. For any project, you can treat them as interchangeable. We stock both based on what our suppliers are running, but performance-wise, they're identical.
For some models of our 24V TM1934 strip, you can reliably run up to 20 meters, which is about 65 feet, from a single power feed with minimal voltage drop. Some of our specialized TM1934A models can even push 30 or 40 meters. This is the main reason you choose these strips over other protocols. For a detailed breakdown, check out our guide on long LED runs.
Yes, you do. These strips use 4 wires: Positive (+V), Ground (GND), Data (DI), and Backup Data (BI). You can't use standard 3-pin addressable connectors or most 4-pin RGB connectors because the pinout is different. You need connectors specifically designed for this 4-wire setup. We stock a full range of IP68 waterproof connectors that are a perfect match for these long-run outdoor installations.
These strips use a data signal that's compatible with the common WS2811 protocol. That's great news because it means they work with a huge range of controllers. Anything that can output a WS2811 signal, or popular DIY solutions like WLED or an Arduino with the FastLED library, will control them perfectly. Just set your controller software to the 'WS2811' chipset.
Absolutely. A huge part of our business is building strips to spec for jobs just like that. Send us your drawing—a photo of a napkin sketch is fine—and we'll figure out the best way to build that 22.5m run. We can specify the IC, LED density, CCT, and waterproofing, then cut it to length and pre-solder the lead wires and connectors. An engineer will send back a full parts list and quote, usually within 12 hours, with no fee or obligation to buy.
No, the functional specs for TM1914 vs TM1934 are nearly identical for all practical purposes. Both support data rates around 800kbps and have a PWM frequency high enough to avoid flicker on most cameras. You wouldn't be able to tell them apart in a finished installation. The choice between them is purely a manufacturing and supply chain detail; from an application engineering standpoint, they're the same part.
