Most of our high-density or specialty color strips are 24V because it handles longer runs better, but for vehicle lighting or retrofits into existing 12V systems, we've got you covered.

Generally, no. Think of these as accent and mood lighting. While some of our colourful cob led strip lights are quite bright, they don't have the full-spectrum white light needed to render colors accurately for tasks like cooking or applying makeup. For that, you want a high-CRI white or tunable white COB strip. These are for washing a wall in blue, making a sign pop with red, or creating a warm yellow glow.

It sure is. We carry single color COB LED strips down to 2.7mm wide, so 5mm is no problem at all. A 5mm red COB strip gives you that perfectly smooth, dot-free line of light that's impossible to get with older SMD-style strips in a narrow channel. It's the main reason people are switching over.

That's a very specific wavelength with two main uses: horticulture and red light therapy. Plants use 660nm light for photosynthesis during their flowering and fruiting stages. It's also a popular wavelength for skin rejuvenation and healing applications. Only if you buy one that's explicitly rated IP68. An IP68 strip is fully submersible. Don't even think about putting an indoor IP20 or even a splash-proof IP65 strip underwater; it will fail and it's an electrical hazard. We offer waterproof COB LED strip options encased in silicone that are designed for exactly this, perfect for pools and aquariums.

This can happen, and it's usually down to different production batches. The manufacturing process for LEDs results in tiny variations, so we sort them into 'bins' for consistency. If you got reels from two different bins, the shade can be slightly off. For critical jobs, always order all the coloured cob led light strips you need at once and let us know it's for a single project. That way, we can make sure it all comes from the same reel or batch.

On 24V, you can typically run a standard-density single color COB strip for about 10 meters (32.8 feet) from a single power feed before you'll start to see noticeable voltage drop. For anything longer, you should plan to run a parallel power wire or power the strip from both ends. If you need really long, continuous runs, look at our long-run 48V COB strips, which can go up to 30 meters on one power supply.

Absolutely. This is a huge part of what we do. A lot of the strips we ship are built to a customer's drawing and never even appear on the website. Just send us your lengths—even a sketch on a napkin will do. We'll figure out the best cut points, solder on the lead wires you need, and can even pre-mount it in an aluminum channel. An engineer will send back a full parts list and quote, usually within 12 hours, with no obligation to order.

It's all about the chip density and the phosphor coating. Instead of having a few large, spaced-out SMD chips, a COB strip has hundreds of tiny chips mounted directly on the circuit board, packed tightly together. This entire array is then covered in a continuous layer of phosphor, which blends the light into one smooth, uniform line.
