Product Information

This DMX tunable white LED strip combines 3000K warm white, 4500K neutral white, and 6500K daylight white diodes into each 5050 SMD package for smooth dynamic white LED effects. Operating on DC24V with an output of 16W/m, this DMX512 LED strip provides 60 LEDs/m with addressable control over every group of 6 LEDs (100mm per pixel). It integrates direct differential parallel DMX512 communication via TM512AD or UCS512H4LB driver ICs, eliminating separate decoders in standard DMX architectural control setups. Designed with 5 solder terminals (24V+, A, B, P, GND) and pre-terminated 5-pin and 2-pin JST-SM connectors, this DMX tunable white LED strip lighting system handles linear pixel mapping, circadian rhythm pacing, and smooth chasing transitions.

Key Features

3-in-1 CCT Diode Integration

Each 5050 SMD package houses 3000K warm white, 4500K neutral white, and 6500K cool white emitters on a single die, providing seamless tunable white color blending without alternating phosphor artifacts.

Direct DMX512 Protocol Support

Driven by external TM512AD or UCS512H4LB ICs with differential parallel signal architecture, avoiding single-point cascade data failures across multi-fixture installations.

24V Power & 100mm Pixel Resolution

Engineered with 60 LEDs/m and grouped into 10 pixels per meter (6 LEDs per IC), allowing precise trimming every 100mm (3.94in) at dedicated copper solder pads.

Multiple Ingress Protection Options

Available in 4 protection grades ranging from IP20 dry indoor tape to IP65 surface glued, IP67 silicone tube, and IP68 solid silicone encapsulation for wet locations.

Technical Highlights

  • External TM512AD or UCS512H4LB control IC decodes differential DMX512 data at rates between 200 kbps and 750 kbps.
  • Color temperature spans 3000K, 4500K, and 6500K with color rendering index Ra>85 to reproduce accurate, natural whites.
  • Differential parallel wiring prevents an individual damaged chip from interrupting signal distribution to subsequent downstream sections.
  • Designed to accept direct DMX programming via 3 white lighting channels per pixel block (DMX footprint: 30 DMX addresses per 5-meter reel).

Application Scenarios

Circadian Architectural Lighting Transition interior commercial spaces smoothly from energizing 6500K daylight white during working hours to soothing 3000K warm white at dusk. The 6-LED grouping enables gentle dynamic white gradients across ceiling coves, meeting rooms, and hotel lobbies using automated DMX consoles.
Stage, Broadcast, and Dynamic Light Mapping Map linear tunable white lighting chasing sequences, pulses, and video-driven running white effects along set borders and television backdrops. Differential DMX512 signal distribution ensures flicker-free 32K PWM port refresh rates, preventing visual jitter on high-definition broadcast cameras.
Custom Exterior Facade and Neon Fixtures Insert the 10mm IP20 LED strip into silicone neon flex extrusions or deploy the IP67/IP68 versions directly onto exterior building trims and outdoor architectural contours. Weatherproof encapsulation withstands temperature fluctuations and moisture exposure across exterior facade runs.

How to Install & Wire This LED Strip

  1. Select an adequate DC24V power supply that delivers at least 96W of capacity per 5m reel to accommodate the 80W full-load rating with a 20% operating safety margin.
  2. Connect the 5-pin JST-SM harness to your DMX distribution line: connect 24V+ to power positive, GND to common ground, A to DMX Data+, B to DMX Data-, and P to the address programmer line when writing DMX addresses.
  3. Inject secondary DC24V power via the 2-pin JST-SM connector every 5 meters to prevent voltage drop and maintain balanced lumen output across extended linear runs.
  4. If cutting is necessary, cut only along the marked 100mm cut lines across the 5 copper pads, and reseal all exposed ends with neutral silicone sealant when working with IP65, IP67, or IP68 waterproof ratings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How many DMX channels does a 5-meter reel consume?

A:With 10 pixels per meter and 3 white channels per pixel (3000K, 4500K, 6500K), each meter consumes 30 DMX channels, requiring a total of 150 DMX channels per full 5-meter (16.4ft) reel.

Q: Can this LED strip be cut and reconnected?

A:Yes, the LED strip can be cut at every 100mm interval across the designated 5 copper solder pads (24V+, A, B, P, GND) using standard shears.

Q: What is the difference between TM512AD and UCS512H4LB IC options?

A:Both chips support standard DMX512 differential parallel communication, but the UCS512H4LB provides enhanced PWM refresh rates up to 32K and adaptive grayscale smoothing for flicker-free camera recording.

LED Strip Light Guide

Common questions about this type of product, answered against this model’s own options. For full figures see the specification above or the spec sheet for this model.

Which controller does this LED strip light need?
IC on this model: DMX512 (UCS512H4LB) · DMX512 (TM512AD). Addressable LED strip lights take a data signal, so they need an SPI (pixel) controller that supports this IC — an ordinary RGB controller will not drive them. Data flows one way: connect the controller to the input end marked with the arrow. Wiring addressable LED strip lights
Do I need power injection?
5 V addressable LED strip lights lose voltage fastest, so longer runs need power fed in at both ends and at intervals along the run; 12 V and 24 V versions carry further. Keep the data line short between controller and first pixel. Choosing an addressable LED strip light
Which waterproof rating should I choose?
Available on this model: Underwater IP68 - Adhesive Back · Outdoor Silicone Tube IP67 - With Brackets · Outdoor Silicone Tube IP67 - Adhesive Back · Surface Glued IP65 - Adhesive Back · Non-Waterproof IP20 - Adhesive Back. IP20 is for dry indoor use, IP65 handles splashes, IP67 suits outdoor and wet areas, IP68 is for continuous submersion. Choosing a waterproof rating
Can I cut it to length?
Yes. Cut only on the marked cut lines between the copper pads — the cut interval for this model is on its spec sheet. Rejoin with solder or a solderless connector. Cutting LED strip lights · we can also cut to length and fit your connector before shipping: custom LED strip light assembly.
What size power supply do I need?
Take the watts per metre from the specification above, multiply by the length you are running, then add about 25% headroom. Power calculation guide · Choosing a power supply
Will it fit an aluminium profile, and how dense are the LEDs?
PCB width 10mm (0.39in). Choose a profile whose inner width is at least the PCB width; denser LEDs give a smoother line close to a diffuser. LED aluminium profiles
