SuperLightingLED™ SlimLine 6mm LED Strip Light Solutions

Selecting the right LED strip can be challenging when dealing with limited installation space or intricate designs. DIY and home automation communities often discuss the difficulty of fitting LED tape lights into tight grooves or achieving seamless bends for signage. SuperLightingLED™ addresses these concerns with our SlimLine 6mm LED Strip series, offering professional-grade, ultra-narrow lighting solutions tailored for global users.

Versatile Specifications for Every Lighting Need

Whether you require high-density single colors, vibrant RGB transitions, or IC addressable effects, our 6mm LED strip lineup delivers. We provide a range of voltages, including DC5V, DC12V, and DC24V, ensuring compatibility with your existing power infrastructure.

• Custom Signage & Channel Letters: Our "S-type" or Zig-Zag bendable PCBs can make tight 90-degree turns without damaging the circuitry, making them perfect for complex channel letter designs and neon signs.

• 360-Degree Illumination: For circular neon tubes, our double-sided 6mm light strip (336 LEDs/m) emits light from both tape sides, eliminating dark spots and ensuring a uniform glow.

• Architectural Integration: These ultra-thin 6mm-PCB LED strips are ideal for pairing with slim aluminum profiles to seamlessly blend into furniture, under-cabinets, or modern architectural structures.

• Weatherproof Options: While many models are IP20 for indoor use, we offer IP67 & IP68 waterproof ratings and Neon lights for outdoor projects, allowing you to achieve narrow-profile lighting in exterior landscapes or signage.

Frequently Asked Questions about SlimLine 6mm LED Strips

Got a question about our ultra-narrow strips? I've probably answered it before. Here are the most common things people ask before they buy.

It's all about fitting into tight spaces. A 6mm LED strip lets you install light in narrow channels, slim furniture grooves, intricate sign letters, and architectural reveals where a standard 10mm or 12mm strip just won't go. It's the same core technology, just on a much smaller, more versatile circuit board.

A 6mm COB (Chip-on-Board) LED strip will give you a completely seamless line of light right out of the box, with no visible dots. A high-density SMD strip can get close, but you'll usually need to pair it with a frosted diffuser channel to fully blend the light. If the strip itself will be visible, COB is the safer bet for a flawless look. We have a guide to COB LEDs that explains the tech in detail.

Only if you choose the right kind. A standard 6mm LED strip can only make gentle, sweeping curves. Forcing a sharp sideways bend will damage the circuit. For sign letters and tight angles, you need one of our 'S-type' or 'Zig-Zag' models. Their unique serpentine PCB is specifically designed to make sharp lateral bends without breaking.

They do generate some heat, just like any LED. While it's less than a wider, high-power strip, heat is the enemy of an LED's lifespan. We strongly recommend mounting any 6mm LED strip light in an aluminum profile. It acts as a heat sink, drawing warmth away from the chips and ensuring you get the full 50,000-hour rated life from them.

That depends entirely on the voltage. For a 24V 6mm LED strip, you can usually run about 5 meters (16.4ft) from a single power feed. On 12V, that drops to around 3-4 meters. A 5V strip has the most voltage drop; plan on injecting power at least every 2-3 meters to keep the brightness consistent. You can find more on this in our voltage drop guide.

That's either voltage drop or data signal degradation, especially on 5V strips. The LEDs at the far end aren't getting enough power or a clean data signal. The fix is to run a separate pair of power wires from your power supply to the end of the strip (or the middle). This is called power injection and it solves the problem almost every time.

A bare 6mm LED strip is designed to cast light onto a surface. A 6mm neon flex strip *is* the light fixture. The neon version is a high-density strip already encased in a flexible, light-diffusing silicone jacket. It creates a solid, dot-free line of light that's often used for custom signs or to create visible linear lighting effects. It's also typically rated IP67 for outdoor use.

You can, but you must choose one with the right waterproof rating. Standard IP20 strips are for dry locations only and will fail quickly from moisture. For a sealed bathroom mirror or a damp area like a shower niche, you need a strip with at least an IP67 rating (silicone coating). Make sure you use matching IP68 connectors to maintain the seal.

Yes, it is for some specific models. While most LED strips have designated cut points every inch or two, we carry a revolutionary arbitrary trimming COB strip. Its unique circuit design allows you to cut it at any point along its length to get a perfect, custom fit for your project without any dead spots. It's a game-changer for precision installations.

Absolutely. This is a huge part of what we do, and much of what we ship is built to a customer's drawing. Just send us your required lengths, wire type, and connector specs — even a quick sketch on a napkin works. An engineer will send back a full wiring layout and quote, usually the same day. There's no fee for the consultation and no obligation to order.
