Product Information

The Artnet-DMX/SPI-508S (Upgraded to the GC-508 Pro) is a high-performance 8-port lighting controller engineered for complex, large-scale LED installations. Powered by an advanced FPGA processor, it seamlessly converts Art-Net network data into both DMX512 and SPI signals, offering unparalleled flexibility. This dual-mode unit functions as both a powerful led light controller online for real-time mapping with software like FAST LED, Madrix, JINX, XLIGHTS, and as a reliable offline controller using an SD card for standalone playback. Featuring dual 100M Ethernet ports for stable, high-speed cascading and a massive capacity of 8,192 RGBW or 10,880 RGB SPI pixels and 1,360 to 4,092 DMX RGB pixels, the GC-508 Pro is the professional's choice for architectural facades, stage productions, and immersive entertainment venues where precision and reliability are paramount.

Key Features

Hybrid Signal Output

Simultaneously outputs both DMX512 and SPI/TTL signals across 8 ports for maximum fixture compatibility.

Powerful FPGA Processor

Utilizes a Field-Programmable Gate Array core for high-load, high-framerate data processing and superior grayscale control.

Flexible Online & Offline Modes

Connect to a PC for live control and recording with Madrix (Art-Net) or run pre-programmed shows standalone from an SD card.

Dual 100M Ethernet Networking

Features two Ethernet ports for stable, hand-in-hand cascading, simplifying wiring for large, synchronized systems.

Master-Slave Synchronization

Set any unit as a master to synchronize multiple controllers in a network without needing an SD card in every slave unit.

Technical Highlights

  • Adaptive protocol switching between GC-NET & ART-NET.
  • Supports complex mapping with varying universe lengths without requiring ArtSync.
  • OLED display and push buttons for easy on-device configuration and address setting.
  • External DMX512 console trigger for integration with KTV and central control systems.

Application Scenarios

Architectural & Facade Lighting Perfect for large-scale building outlines and media facades. The high pixel count and robust networking allow for breathtaking, synchronized light shows that bring architecture to life.
Stage & Event Production Integrate seamlessly into professional stage lighting rigs. Use the online Art-Net mode for real-time control during concerts and performances, or offline mode for reliable, repeatable effects at corporate events.
Entertainment & Hospitality Venues Create dynamic, immersive atmospheres in bars, KTVs, banquet halls, and nightclubs. The DMX console trigger function allows for easy integration with existing intelligent control systems for on-the-fly adjustments.
Cultural Tourism & Themed Attractions Power complex lighting installations for night tours, theme parks, and public art displays. The controller's stability and support for numerous fixtures make it ideal for long-term, demanding projects.

How to Control & Use This Controller

  1. Power Connection: Connect the controller to a standard AC 100-240V power source using the appropriate power cord for your region (AU, EU, UK, or US plug types available).
  2. Network Setup (Online Mode): Connect an Ethernet cable from your computer or network switch to one of the RJ45 network ports. For cascading multiple controllers, connect a second cable from the other port to the next controller in the chain.
  3. Fixture Wiring: Connect your addressable LED strip lights or DMX fixtures to the 8 output ports. Ensure correct wiring for Data, Clock (if applicable), and Ground according to your fixture's specifications.
  4. Offline Mode: To run scenes without a computer, create your lighting effects using compatible software (like FAST LED or by recording an Art-Net stream), save the program files to an SD card, and insert it into the controller's card slot.
  5. Online Mode: Launch your lighting software (e.g., MADRIX). Configure it to output Art-Net data to the controller's IP address. The controller will automatically detect the Art-Net signal and stream the data to your lights in real-time.
  6. On-Device Configuration: Use the OLED display and adjacent buttons to set the controller's IP address, select offline programs, adjust brightness/speed, and configure other parameters directly on the unit.

Artnet DMX SPI Controller for LED Lights GC-508 PRO

⚠ Precautions
  • Ensure the output signal type (DMX512 or specific SPI IC) is correctly configured to match your LED fixtures.
  • Always disconnect power before making any wiring changes.
  • For long runs of LED strips, power injection may be required to prevent voltage drop. The controller only provides the data signal.

What's in the Box

  • 1x GC-508 PRO Controller
  • 1x AC Power Cord (Plug type of your choice)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between online and offline mode?

A:Online mode streams lighting data in real-time from a computer running software like Madrix via an Ethernet connection. Offline mode plays pre-programmed lighting shows stored on an SD card, allowing the controller to run standalone.

Q: What is an FPGA processor and why is it important?

A:An FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) is a powerful processor that allows for extremely fast, parallel data handling. This results in higher frame rates, smoother animations, and more reliable performance with large numbers of pixels compared to standard microcontrollers.

Q: Can I synchronize multiple 508S controllers?

A:Yes, you can cascade multiple units using the dual Ethernet ports. In offline mode, you can set one as a master to synchronize all connected slave units for perfectly coordinated, large-scale displays.

Q: Does this controller support RGBW LED strips?

A:Yes, it supports RGBW four-color control and has both energy-saving and brightening modes for RGBW fixtures. Each port can drive up to 1024 RGBW pixels.

Q: Can I use this dmx artnet controller with DMX-based lighting fixtures?

A:Absolutely. This controller can output standard DMX512 signals from all 8 ports, making it a versatile DMX controller for LED lights and other DMX-compatible stage or architectural fixtures.
