When your LED strip installation exceeds the power capacity of your main controller, the LT-3030-6A seamlessly takes over, powering additional strip sections while maintaining perfect synchronization. How to Install and Use This Power Repeater

  1. Safety First: Always disconnect all power sources before making any wiring connections.
  2. Connect Power Supply: Run wires from a separate LED power supply to the 'POWER' input terminals (V+, V-) on the LT-3030-6A. The power supply voltage must match your LED strips (e.g., 24V for 24V strips).
  3. Connect Control Signal: Connect the PWM signal output from your master LED controller to the 'SIGNAL' input terminals (CH1/R, CH2/G, CH3/B, and V+) on the repeater.
  4. Connect Additional LEDs: Wire the next segment of your LED strip run to the corresponding 'OUTPUT' terminals (CH1/R, CH2/G, CH3/B, and V+) of the repeater.
  5. Verify Polarity: Double-check all connections to ensure correct polarity (+ to +, - to -) to prevent damage to your equipment.
  6. Power On: Reconnect the power and test your lighting system. The newly connected LED strip section should now operate in perfect synchronization with the strips connected to the main controller.
⚠ Precautions
  • The LED power supply connected to the repeater must be sized to handle the load of the LED strips it will be driving.
  • Do not exceed the maximum current rating of 6A per channel or 18A in total for the repeater.
  • This is a Constant Voltage (CV) power repeater. It is only compatible with CV LED strips and fixtures.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the repeater to maintain optimal operating temperature.

Q: My power strip light is flickering at the far end. Will this fix it?

A:Yes, a flickering light at the end of a long LED strip is a classic sign of insufficient power due to voltage drop. Installing this repeater with a second power supply will resolve the issue by providing ample, stable power to the end of the run.

Q: How many power repeaters can I use in one lighting system?

A:You can daisy-chain multiple repeaters to create very long runs. Each repeater in the chain must be connected to its own appropriately sized LED power supply to power its section of LED strips.

Q: Is this compatible with RGB LED strips?

A:Absolutely. The LT-3030-6A features three channels, which is perfect for standard 4-pin RGB LED strips. It can also be used to amplify three separate channels of single-color strips.

Q: What is the difference between this and a DMX decoder?

A:This power repeater amplifies an existing PWM signal from a standard LED controller. A DMX decoder's job is to convert a DMX512 signal into a PWM signal. They serve different functions and are not interchangeable.
