How to Use This Bulk DMX Cable

  1. Measure and cut the precise length of cable needed for your connection.
  2. Carefully use a wire stripper to remove about 1 inch (2.5cm) of the outer black PVC jacket, taking care not to cut the shield or inner wires.
  3. Gently peel back the braided or foil shielding layer and twist it into a single wire. This will connect to Pin 1 on your connector.
  4. Strip about 1/4 inch (5-6mm) of insulation from the ends of the inner conductor wires.
  5. Solder the inner conductors and the shield wire to the appropriate pins on your XLR or other DMX connectors. Follow the standard DMX512 pinout (Pin 1: Ground/Shield, Pin 2: Data-, Pin 3: Data+).
⚠ Precautions
  • Always double-check the pinout requirements for all your DMX devices before soldering connectors.
  • Ensure all solder joints are clean and secure to prevent intermittent connections or signal loss.
