How to Control & Use This Dimming Driver

  1. Ensure the main power supply is off before beginning any wiring.
  2. Connect your DC12V or DC24V power supply to the driver's 'POWER' input terminals (V+ and V-), verifying correct polarity.
  3. Connect your dimming signal source (e.g., 0-10V dimmer, potentiometer, or push-button switch) to the 'SIGNAL' input terminals. Refer to the product datasheet for specific wiring diagrams for each signal type.
  4. Connect the 'LED' output terminals to your single-color LED strip, matching V+ to the strip's positive wire and the output channel to the negative wire.
  5. Double-check all connections for security and correct polarity, then restore power. Test the dimming functionality with your control device.
⚠ Precautions
  • Always use a constant voltage DC power supply with a voltage that matches your LED strips (12V or 24V).
  • Do not exceed the maximum load of 6A (72W at 12V or 144W at 24V). Overloading the driver can cause damage.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the driver to dissipate heat and prevent overheating.
  • For detailed wiring instructions, please refer to the LT-701-6A datasheet available in the Downloads section below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between 0-10V and 1-10V dimming?

A:0-10V dimming allows lights to dim down to 0% (completely off). 1-10V dimming only dims to a minimum of 10% brightness, requiring a separate switch to turn the lights fully off. This driver supports both standards.

Q: Can I use this driver with RGB or tunable white LED strips?

A:No, the LT-701-6A is a single-channel driver designed exclusively for single-color LED strips.

Q: What kind of dimmer control can I use with this driver?

A:You can use any standard 0-10V or 1-10V wall dimmer, a 10V PWM signal generator, a suitable resistor (potentiometer), or a simple momentary push-button switch for Push-Dim control.

Q: Is this a good replacement for my old LED strip lights and driver?

A:Yes, its broad compatibility with multiple dimming signals and standard 12-24V input makes it an excellent choice for an LED driver replacement in many single-color applications.

Q: What kind of power supply do I need for this driver?

A:You'll need a constant voltage DC power supply that matches your LED strip's voltage (12V or 24V) and has enough wattage to power your total light load, plus a recommended 20% safety margin.

Q: How many feet of LED strip can this driver power?

A:This depends on the wattage per foot of your LED strip. To calculate, divide the driver's max power (e.g., 144W at 24V) by the strip's W/ft rating. Always ensure the total current does not exceed 6A.
