This 850nm security near-infrared (NIR) floodlight tape (600-LED 2835 IR Tape, DC12/24V power supply, 8mm width, 120 LEDs per meter, SMD2835 chip) is primarily designed for stealth illumination scenarios. Its wavelength lies outside the human visible spectrum (approximately 700-1100nm), making it nearly invisible to the naked eye yet highly detectable by infrared-sensitive devices such as night vision cameras. It is particularly suitable for the following applications:
► Security Surveillance Systems: Serves as night vision auxiliary lighting when installed near cameras, providing wide-angle flood coverage to enhance imaging quality in low-light environments without revealing positions or disrupting normal visible light conditions. The 850nm wavelength is most common in surveillance due to its balanced illumination intensity and stealth.
► Hunting and Outdoor Activities: Used in night hunting gear or wildlife observation, providing an invisible infrared light source to assist night vision goggles or thermal imagers without alerting targets.
► Medical and Biological Applications: Integrated into pulse oximeters, phototherapy devices, or bioimaging systems, leveraging near-infrared light's penetrating properties for non-invasive monitoring or treatment.
► Research Laboratories: Serving as spectral indicators or auxiliary light sources for scientific experiments, plant growth monitoring, or infrared imaging testing.
Compared to the 120/m 3528 infrared LED, the SMD2835 LED is inherently better suited for constructing high-efficiency infrared flood light sources due to its physical structure and optical characteristics. Its light-emitting surface is rectangular, and the light source sits close to the PCB substrate, enabling light to spill out evenly over a large area.
