How to Use This Address Editor
- Ensure all lights and the editor are powered off.
- Connect the FIR-DMX-XL to a compatible DC12V-24V power supply. Observe correct polarity (+/-).
- Connect the DMX output of the editor to the DMX input of the very first MiBoxer auto-addressing lamp in your series.
- Connect the rest of your DMX lamps in a daisy-chain configuration (output of the first lamp to input of the second, and so on).
- Power on the editor and the DMX lamps.
- The editor will automatically write the starting DMX address to the first lamp. The subsequent lamps will then automatically receive their sequential addresses.
- Once addressing is confirmed to be successful, power down the system, disconnect the FIR-DMX-XL, and connect your main DMX controller to the first lamp to begin programming your light show.
- This device is a setup tool, not a permanent DMX controller. It should be removed from the DMX line after addresses are set.
- Only use with MiBoxer DMX512 lamps specifically designed for auto-address editing. It will not work with standard DMX fixtures.
- Always match the voltage of your power supply to the requirements of the editor and your DMX lamps (12V or 24V).
- While the unit is IP66 rated, ensure all cable connections are also appropriately waterproofed for outdoor use.
