Application Scenarios
How to Control & Use This Sensor Switch
- Step 1: Mounting - Securely affix the sensor module to the back side of your chosen non-metallic surface (e.g., wood, glass, plastic). Ensure the central sensing area is aligned with where you intend to touch.
- Step 2: Power Input - Connect the input wires to a regulated 5VDC power supply. The Red wire connects to Positive (+) and the Black wire connects to Negative (-).
- Step 3: Signal Output - Connect the output wires to the signal input of your LED controller or driver. The Yellow wire is the PWM signal output, and the Black wire is the common ground (-).
- Step 4: Operation - Once wired, touch the front surface of the panel. A brief tap will turn the lights on or off. A sustained press-and-hold will cycle the brightness up and down.
- Ensure the material thickness does not exceed the 5cm maximum detection range for reliable operation.
- This sensor is designed for low voltage systems. Only use a compatible 5VDC power supply.
- The sensor will not function if mounted on or behind metallic or conductive surfaces.
- This device outputs a control signal; it does not directly power LED strips. It must be used with a compatible LED controller or driver.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What materials can this touch sensor work through?
A:It is designed to work through non-metallic materials like wood, glass, plastic, acrylic, and stone up to 5cm thick.
Q: Will this sensor work if I mount it behind a metal panel?
A:No, capacitive touch technology does not work through metal or other conductive surfaces.
Q: What kind of power supply is required for the SK-EW sensor?
A:This sensor requires a stable, regulated 5VDC power supply for proper operation.
Q: How do I dim the lights with this sensor?
A:To dim, simply press and hold your finger on the surface above the sensor. It will cycle through brightness levels until you release your finger.
Q: Can this sensor power my LED strip directly?
A:No, this is a sensor that outputs a low-power 5V PWM signal. It must be connected to an LED controller or a driver that accepts a PWM input to control your lights.
Q: Is the touch sensitivity adjustable?
A:The sensitivity is factory-set for a detection range up to 5cm and is not user-adjustable.
